Told from Autumn Cooper P.O.V

Classroom:
"You did your homework right glasses?" Eric asks. "Not today, sir." I said. Everyone gasps. "Are you alright Autumn?" Mia asks. I look at her.

"I'm perfectly fine. I'm just stressing over whom to pick to go to the award ceremony with me." I explained. "Award ceremony?" Mia asked.

"Oh yeah, you don't know do you cow girl." Braidy said. "Autumn always goes to this award ceremony for smart kids. They get awards for their achievements in school." Alexandra explained. "Yeah, and this time. I can bring a guest." I explained.

"Who are you going to ask?" Eric asks. "Will sir. I like all my friends and I don't want to choose just one, but I have to... so I don't know yet." I said.

"Awww Autumn cares about us." Braidy said. "Be quiet playboy." I said. "Will, I can already tell you. Don't pick me. If I'm not getting a reward what's the point of going." Jessamine said.

"Who said she was going to choose you. I'm her childhood friend." Alexandra said. "And who said she was going to choose you. Maybe I will go if she ask. Just to rub it in your face." Jessamine said.

"You." Alexandra said. "Guys, calm down. I thought you were friends." Braidy said. "We are not friends!" They shouted together. "Ladies That's enough. Autumn did you really not do your homework?" Eric asks.

"Of course I did my homework sir." I said. I took my homework out my folder and gave it to him. "Thanks and did you grade everyone homework from yesterday?" Eric asks. "Of course." I said, giving him that too.

"Do you ever grade our homework?" Mia asks. "The last time he accidentally gave everyone an A." Braidy explained. "Those were the good days." Jessamine muttered.

"How do you do that?" Mia asks. "An Eric thing." I explained. "Of course." Mia said. After, school I went home and thought of whom I'm going to take so I got a notebook and wrote something about all of my friends.

First one. Mia: Caring, Tries to solve problems and that's all I can think about right now. Next one Braidy: Playboy and can sometimes be sensitive and last Alexandra: Used to like pranking people, Can kind of be a rebel and has been my friend since forever. "This is so hard!" I yelled and flopped on my bed.

My mom popped her head in my bedroom. "Did you choose who you're going to take?" My mom asks. "No." I sighed. She sighed and sat on my bed. "Hon just remember whoever you pick I'm sure your friend won't be mad because they're true friends." My mom said and with that she got up.

"I hope your right." I mumbled as my mom left. After a lot of thinking I still couldn't choose one. I was still thinking throughout dinner and a little while after dinner, I went to bed and was still thinking about whom to take.

Next day: I woke up and got ready. After I got ready, I left for school. Once I got to school and my locker I went to Mia's locker. Alexandra was following right behind me. "Hey Mia." I said. "Hey." She responded while trying to open her locker.

"Hey Autumn did you choose yet?" Jessamine asks while coming over here. "Why do you care anyway, it's not like she's going to choose you." Braidy said while coming over here. "Because if she chooses me, I want to rub it in Alexandra and Mia face." Jessamine said. Mia rolled her eyes.

"It's not like she's going to choose you." Alexandra said. Braidy, Alexandra and Jessamine argued back and forth. "You wanna go to class?" I ask Mia.

"Yep." She said. We walked into Eric class and sat down. "Hey, why weren't you joining the argument about who I take?" I ask Mia. "Well, I'm happy for you and I don't want you to stress about who to pick instead I want you to be happy for yourself and second I'm not really into award ceremonies and third I might not be able to go anyway." Mia explained.

"Oh." I said as everyone came in.

The bell was about to ring when Eric spoke up. "Okay for your guy's assignment, I want you to write me an essay about what true friends are and if you believe in true friends." Eric said.

The bell rung we all went to Mia locker. Even Jessamine came to Mia locker, why do I feel like this is going to end badly. "Autumn did you choose yet?" Braidy asks. "You don't even like award ceremonies." Alexandra said. "I know, but I want to go so I can rub it in Jessamine's face." Braidy said.

"Well..." I started to say. "Why would she pick you or Jessamine first of all you hate award ceremonies and Jessamine you aren't her friend well you kind of are and then kind of not her friend." Alexandra said pointing to Braidy and Jessamine. "Guys I..." I began. "Maybe she will pick me." Braidy and Jessamine said.

They started arguing again. I couldn't find Mia anywhere probably trying to get away from them arguing. "Guys!" I yelled. They stop arguing.

"I did choose, I'm not taking any of you guys, Braidy and Alexandra you guys are supposed to be my friends, but you guys are arguing about who I take did you once stop and think about me the only person who has been a true friend is Mia." I said and with that I walked away.

I got home and did my homework, but not the essay yet I then got ready for the award ceremony. When I got there I sat down by myself as people got their awards. Once it was my turn I got my awards and thanked everyone, even my friends I just actually wish they were here. I sat back in my seat and zone out when a voice brought me back to reality.

"Hey." Alexandra said. "Wait, you came." I said. "She's not the only one." Braidy said. They both sat down and Mia did too. "I thought you couldn't come." I told Mia. "Well, I was going to go with my mom, but I heard you guys arguing." Mia said.

"And she told us we weren't being good friends." Alexandra said. "She also told us we should've stop and think about you instead of ourselves." Braidy said.

"Because that's what true friends do." Mia finished. After the award ceremony, we went home.

Next day:

We were in history class and Eric called us up to present our essay. "True friends are people who know you better than yourself." Alexandra said. "And takes a position in your best interests in a crisis." I said.

"Friendship goes beyond just sharing time together, and it is long lasting." Mia said. " Friendship can mean different things to different people." Braidy said. "Do we believe in true friendship?" Mia asks. "Yes." I said.

"If it weren't for these people my first day at this school would've turned into a disaster." Mia said.

"And I know through anything these people have my back." I said. We bow and went back to our seats. If you ever find a true friend, I suggest to keep it because you may never know when you'll need it.
