Chapter 9

"After is the dumbest movie I've ever seen."

I blinked my eyes rapidly after hearing his view about my favorite movie. I acquiesce in the fact that the movie wasn't that good, but Geriko's insisting that the entire plot is trash. Even though he likes movies that much, he still has high standards in picking a good one to watch.

Buti nalang hindi kami awkward ngayon dahil sa ginawa kong kabobohan kanina. Why the fuck would I hug him? Naiinis ako dahil hindi naman ako mahilig mag first move sa mga lalaki. I hug my friends when I feel like hugging them, but Geriko is not my friend. Sa kanilang mga lalaki, si Travis lang ang masasabi kong kaibigan.

He was tapping my back when I was hugging him tight kanina, "Sorry, if you got too stressed, we're here to have fun dapat."

Nagulat ako dahil hindi naman yun ang rason, pero sinakyan ko nalang.

"Oo nga, ang bigat talaga." I squeezed him tight before letting go, biting my lips in humiliation

Ngumiti naman siya sakin, he patted my head like a dog and opened the TV. Naubos ko na ang dalawang chips pero hindi pa kami nakakapili ng papanoodin. Every movie that I suggest is dumb for him, dumb and shallow was the exact words he said. But I can't accept his harsh words sa favorite movie ko.

"Baka ikaw yung dumb!" sabi ko, "Ang ganda kaya, lalo na yung book."

"You better read The Turn of the Key, or The Silent Patient." he replied while finding a good movie to watch in netflix

Hindi naman ako nagbabasa ng mga ganon, mahihilo lang ako sa dami ng plot twists. Ngayon alam ko na kung bakit mahilig siya sa mind games, puro kasi mystery ang binabasa at pinapanood niya.

"Ayoko nga, After padin." matigas kong sabi. Umiling naman siya saka hinagis ang remote palayo.

Napatingin ako sa TV dahil After ang napili niyang panoodin. I already watched that a couple of times with my friends, pero gusto ko padin panoodin kasi ang gwapo ni Hardin. I thought he wants to give it a try, pero he was pausing every bad part he sees to say his comment.

"See? A woman should not change herself para sa lalaki."

Ipagtatanggol ko sana si Tessa pero may point naman siya. I was frowining the whole time because he ruined the essence of the plot. And given that it was my favorite movie, parang maghahanap ulit ako ng bagong favorite.

"When men cheat, it's disgusting, it's trash." he said while opening the tent's roof leaving the net like cloth to shield us from the insects flying.

It revealed the dark sky and the bright stars.

"But if a woman cheats..." hindi ko na tinuloy ang sasabihin niya dahil gusto ko idefend si Tessa.

"But Tessa cheated for love!" I voiced out and he just chuckled.

"Exactly, pag babae aww that's for love." he was mimicking a girl's voice, "Noah deserved better."

I actually hated Noah in the story, he was like a control freak.

"Noah was problematic kaya. Super controlling."

"That's not an enough reason for someone to cheat. Tessa could have told him na ayaw niya ng ganon and break up with him before kissing somebody."

He was talking like he's been through Noah's situation already

"Sabihin mo yan kay Shawn." biro ko naman at tumawa siya. He offered me a root beer, pero I just nodded at him. Alam ko na ang mangyayari sa oras na tinanggap ko iyon.
