"Look who it is" I say to Isaac
"Hey, sorry I didn't come when you first called, I was sleep" Jamal closes the door and sits besides me
"Yeah, I figured that"
"So, I missed his birth" he looks up sad
"Yeah, but it's alright...he's here now"
"Can I hold him? He reaches out his arms
I lean over and place Isaac in his arms. His face immediately lights up with excitement, touching his cheeks.
"Wow he's so tiny and....precious"
"I said the same thing" I laugh.
"Hey, wassup lil player" he talks to him
"My son is not a player" I stale faced him
"He gonna be. I'm a teach him how to get all the girls as bueatiful as his mommy"
I blush and roll my eyes.
"What's his name though?
"Isaac Julián Gabriel Mayy"
"Wow, that's a mouth full...."
"Well I couldn't choose between Julián and Gabriel....so he has both"
Jamal kisses Isaac on the cheek and play with his fingers. It made me smile to see his softer side for my son...but then I realized I need to know if this is Jamal's son. I was so hesitant to ask but I need to know.
"Jamal" I whisper
"Yeah? He looks up
"You think you can take um....the DNA test"
"Oh, yeah" he says low
"Can you go ask the doctor out in the hallway"
*7:57 am*
"I got the results back" Jamal comes in with Isaac.
"So..."
He sits down in the chair. "I'm not the father of him" he looked up at me
I looked away, feeling awful and a little disgusting. I was sad he wasn't Isaac's dad...now I don't know who it could be. I'm so embarrassed...
"Babe it's okay" he held my hand
"....I just feel so awful. You look so happy holding him and he's not yours"
"I'm still going to be here for him, even if I'm not the dad....I can still be the sexy uncle" he smirks
I smile at him.
"Tell mommy to stop worrying" he kisses Isaac making me so happy
*5 Days later*
It's time to take my little man to his new home and leave this boring hospital room. I had already made a space for his crib in my room, so everything was ready to go for him. Jamal strapped him in his car seat while I grabbed my things and talked to the nurse.
"Have a safe trip you guys" my favorite nurse said as we both walked out the room.
"Thank you, and you have a nice day sweetie"
I signed out at the hospital and we got in the car, pulling out of the parking lot and exiting the hospital.
"Awwww'' I squealed looking at Isaac in his car seat.
