Today Is Gone. (Joshler)

Tyler walked in the house, which turned completely silent. His whole family looked at him.

"Tyler. We need to talk," his mother said in a slight demanding tone.

"I'd rather not," he mumbled.

"Tyler, now," his father butted in.

Tyler turned towards them and sat at the table they were at.

"Would you like to explain that picture?" His father asked.

"I was sitting with my friend, Josh. I was trying to comfort him because he said he was feeling "worthless"...he said he thought about taking his own life," he said. He hated lying, but what else was he supposed to say?

"So you held his hand?" His father asked.

"Yeah, sure. Everyone needs to be comforted with a little hand-holding," he joked. No one laughed.

"Are you gay?"

"W-what?" Tyler stuttered out.

His mother looked disappointed, his father looked scared.

"Are. You. Gay?"

"Why? Why would it matter if I was gay?"

"Because we raised you better than this, Tyler," his mom said numbly.

Tyler stood up, shaking, turning to walk away, but he turned back.

"Then I guess you didn't raise me well enough." Tyler took a deep breath.

"Yeah. I'm gay."
