Tyler quietly walked through the empty halls of the school. The bell rang already, but he was stalling. He really didn't want to go home.

"Hey, Tyler!"

He heard a familiar voice and turned around to see Hayley walking towards him.

Tyler just flashed an extremely small smile.

"What's wrong?" She asked, grabbing his hand and rushing him over to the bench that happened to be placed next to them.

Tyler didn't speak, so she repeated herself.

"What's wrong?"

Tyler took a deep breath.

"It's nothing big, really...Josh is ignoring me...ignoring me here, ignoring my texts..." Tyler looked down at his hands. "He asked me to go to the movies with him, but never texted me. When I texted him, he just read the texts. It's now the fifth day that he's ignoring me. Even in all of our classes, he put his seat next to the front door, and when I try to go up to him, he just runs out." Tyler looked helpless. "Did I do something wrong? I don't understand!" He exclaimed, running his hands down his face.

Hayley took in all of the information and shrugged.

"It doesn't sound like you did anything wrong...Want me to try to hunt him down and talk to him? We're not friends...but..."

Tyler quickly shook his head.

"No. If he doesn't want to be friends anymore, that's his decision. I want him to be happy...and if that's what it takes, then so be it," Tyler did a small, fake smile.

Hayley sighed.

"Okay, Ty. Whatever you say." Hayley checked her watch. "I'm gonna head home. It's late. Wanna walk with me?" She knew he was going to say no, but it was worth a shot.

"Is it okay if I walk alone? I just want to think."

Hayley nodded.

"See you tomorrow!"
