chapter 3

Dawn and I had picked the kids up two hours ago and are now on our way to where ever she bought my birthday tickets for.

After a whole hour of driving we finally made it to a huge arena place that had its perimeter completely packed with screaming girls. Some of which, I noticed had braces. I the let out a light grown at Dawn. "Dawn, you know me well enough. What in God's name would compel you bring me, a now twenty-two year old woman to a boy band concert?" I groan at her again.

"This isn't a boy band. It's punk rock. They just have some younger viewers." She smiles.

"Mummy, I'm gonna be a rock star." Cass smiles before playing the air guitar. I giggle at him before turning back to Dawn.

"Okay, so we've got, the one who spent the money, you. The reason we stay if I hate it, Cass. And Maddie, what did you put into this mad plan?" I ask her.

"I found them." She says giving me a cheesy grin.

"Well, now I've heard enough. Let's just go." I roll my eyes and lead the kids in. The tickets Dawn had purchased are fore front row seats.

"By the way, who are the people playing, I can't understand the screams!" I loudly say over the screaming girls.

"I don't know. Maddie found them. She said it was a band called five sauce!" She tells me the sane way.

"What?!" I ask wondering if I heard right.

"Five Sauce! They're an Australian band, and supposed to be a big thing! They've been around for a decent time so I guess they're pretty good!.." She tells me. But before either of us could say anything else the band runs on stage straight to their mics. For some reason they all look very familiar.

"How are you all doing tonight, London!" One of them asks/screams into the mic and the crowd goes nuts. He has green hair. Where have I heard that voice before??

"My name is Michael!"

"I'm Ashton!"

"I'm Calum!"

"And my name is Luke!"

"And We're 5 Seconds Of Summer!" They all scream in unison and the whole crowd loses their nut.

"What did he just say?!" I ask Dawn in utter disbelief.

"5 seconds of summer!" She tells me. And my heart drops. Dawn wasn't saying Five Sauce. She was saying 5SOS. This is Luke's band. Oh no. She got back stage passes for us. I never told her who Cass's father was. I never told anyone. Fuck. This is gonna be the worse birthday ever.

Wait, maybe Luke doesn't remember me.

After the show was over Dawn lead the kids and I back stage where it was crowded with screaming girls and flashing camera phones.

"Maddie if you two want to go meet the band you can, just keep a good hold on Cass's hand. Your mum and I will be right here when you come back." I tell her before giving Cass a kiss.

"You don't want to go with them?" Dawn asks.

"No. I'm okay." I tell her. But the real reason is because Luke doesn't know Cass. If I went with them and he recognized me there would be a lot of tension that I don't think I can handle.
