With all the craziness last night I wasn't surprised when the whole flat would be starting today a bit late. Dawn and I made breakfast at 10:00. Since Luke is coming over I asked Dawn if she was willing to bring Cass along with her to the shops. Thank god she was more than willing to help out. I gave her some cash for him along with a small Nando's request on her way home.

When they left I took the time to straighten up and right in the nick of time. Just as I finished sweeping, the door buzzed and I ran straight to it. That's when I realized how nervous I really am to have him over.

"Who is it?" I ask pressing the button so the person can ear me.

"It's Luke." His voice comes though and I feel myself shake.

"Come on up." I say buzzing him in. Within 30 seconds I hear a knock on my door. I open it and my insides freeze when I see that instead of it just being Luke, he brought his girlfriend along.

"Hi." I simply say.

"Hi." He greats back. He sounds just as I feel.

Mona on the other hand doesn't say anything at all. She actually just avoids eye contact all together.

"Can we come in?" Luke asks and I nod.

"Sure." I say moving aside so they can come in. They both sit down on the couch while I sit on a separate chair.

"So, what exactly did you wanna talk about with him?" Mona is the first to speak.

"Well, I know Luke wants to be apart of our son's..."
"Your son's." She cuts me off. I don't get angry though. I just go with it.
"My son's life, but I wanted to let him know why being here for him full time won't be the best idea. He's got you, his music, the band, and his fans. Being here for Cass would force him to choose between all that and us. I was hoping to make that choice a little easier for him." I say and Mona scoffs.

"What were you planning on doing? Throwing a pity party for yourself until he agreed to stay? Throwing yourself at him? Or bringing your kid to the press to fuck with his life?" She smirks and that's when I lose it.

"Mona, stop. Now your just being a bitch. I only brought you along because you said you would be calm about it." He stops her by putting a hand in her knee.

"No. You know what, Luke, it's fine. I was actually planning on making a compromise so you can see Cass without having to cut into your everyday life to do so, but you know what? She's right. This was a bad idea." I say and he snaps his head up at me.

"No. There's no choice to be made. I'm going to be in my son's life. He needs his father around. Mona, I don't need a DNA test to know he's my son. So you can drop your bull shit accusations right now." He's standing up now. "And, Emily? You don't have to keep putting me and my life before our son's happiness and wellbeing. I'm in this 100%. If I have to put something aside for him then so be it."

"But what if." Before I can even protest he kneels down in front of me and takes my hand in his.

"You don't have to do this alone anymore, yeah? I'm here and I'm not going anywhere, so dot even try pushing me away again." He says and I smile. Then he whips my cheek. I didn't even realize I was crying.
