Seeing Richie again brought back horrible memories that I wish I could forget, but seeing the look he gave my son before Luke took him down. Like he wanted to grab him right out of my arms and do god knows what. And thank god for Luke. I've never seen someone react so fast. After everyone made sure no one was hurt we tied Richard and his brother to two kitchen chairs and awaited security's arrival.

By this point we've already been waiting twenty minutes and the two men woke up five minutes ago. So I decided now is the best time to find out what the fuck caused all this.

"I'm gonna go talk to him." I inform Luke who's sitting beside me with a protective arm around me and our sleeping son.

"Are you sure? He's fucking—sorry... he's crazy. You can't reason with crazy." He tries to persuade me.

"I don't want to reason with him. I just want to know why he did this, and how the hell he was able to find me so quickly after all this time." Is the last thing I say before standing and headed into the kitchen. Cass's sleeping frame still tight in my grasp. Luke following close behind me.

When I step through the door both men immediately give me their attention. Richard still unable to take his eyes off my son. The room remains silent until I finally speak up.

"I was an idiot. I should've pressed more severe charges on you after what you did. I should've sent you straight to prison. But you seemed so level headed to me that I was actually convinced it was my fault you fell off the deep end. I'm glad to know you were a sick, twisted bastard before I came along." His eyes finally shoot to meet mine and I can tell I offended him. Oh well.
"Security will be here soon to take you and your twisted little brother to prison where you belong so start talking and make it quick."

It's silent for a bit but this time Ruben speaks up. "Fuck that! I'm not going down for this mother fucker anymore!" He surprise me by saying, and he surprises his brother as well. "Listen, Emily. I don't know you all that well and from what Richie told me about you I though you were a lying whore for holding out on him. That however is no excuse for what we did and I'm so sorry. I can't take it back even though I wish I could. I was just following Richie, he's my older brother so I have to do what he tells me. I may have egged him on but what we did, it wasn't my idea. I don't expect to be let off though." He says and something in me wants to forgive him, but my face remains stoic.

I turn my gaze to Richard who's looking at my son again. Luke notices and places a protective hand on him and stepping slightly in front of me to block his view.

"You... you really have a kid." Is all he says and my annoyance rises with him.

"Yes. I have a kid. I told you this when we were together." I don't try to hide the disgust in my voice.

"No, I mean, you were serious. He's just a kid. He's really your kid. I thought you were just lying and cheating on me whenever you said no to sex." I see Luke tense up but he relaxes when running his hand through Cass's hair.

"Is that supposed to excuse the fact that you raped her in the middle of an ally and left her to die? I'm sorry but if you want me to ensure security have two men to take to prison instead of one man and a dismembered corpse you'll need to move me." Luke speaks up and Richard's face pales.

"I'm guessing you're the father?"

"Damn straight."

"Were you two together the same time we were?"

"We coparented our son separately until very recently." I speak up quickly so Luke doesn't slip the sad truth. Richards face pales even more and I can almost feel his body temperature drop.

"Emily, I am so, so sorry. I'm sorry to your son too. I just... I loved you and the thought of you leaving me drove me crazy. I would've loved to be a father figure to your son." He pleas and I have to physically stop Luke from trying to kill him.

"Yeah, you say that now, after the damage has already been done. I can't believe she actually let you off. I would've killed you myself and sent your pieces to the prison where you could rot in silence. You hurt her and you also affected my son. Sorry won't cut it." His voice is so calm. I'm not surprised, he has every right to be upset.

"You were absolutely right. I was a sick bastard before I met you. I honestly thought you made that side of me disappear, but I was so wrong. I... I don't know what to say. You'd never lied to me before so I shouldn't have accused you of starting..." His apology seems heartfelt and I sort of by it but when Cass stirs in his sleep I'm reminded of the task at hand.

"It's far too late for apologies so quit your damn sobbing and tell me what I want to know. How did you find me, and what would you have done to my son if Luke hadn't stopped you?" My face flattens out and pain flashes across his.

"I..." is all he gets out before two big police officers barge in and starts taking the men and Mirandizing them.

"No, wait!" I hand Cass to Luke and try to get the two men's attention. "Let then finish! I need to know." I pry but the officer escorted Richard away gently pushes me back into the room.

"Stay back, ma'am. This man is dangerous and has been on our watch list for weeks. We need to take him in and process him immediately. If you have any issues you may come down to the station and handle them there. Have a lovely night." Is all he says before closing the door behind him.
