Oddball

I'm an oddball,

Just for today,

I don't understand,

Why no one will play.

Like the piece of the puzzle,

That doesn't fit in,

Even as I try,

I just can't win.

No one will say,

But everyone knows,

I'm odd from my hair,

And odd to my toes.

I'm different today,

Like a fish on land,

Flopping about,

On the burning sand.

I try to breathe,

Which seemed easy before,

But instead I can't speak,

I can only ROAR--

In frustration,

And fear,

I hold on to,

That one single tear.

But it's okay.

Because I'm an oddball.

Just for today.

[Or maybe forever]
