Chapter Forty-One

HERE IS YOUR UPDATE! Yes, on behalf of my lazy butt I now present to you another chapter. I updated two chapters yesterday and two today :DDDDDDDD

Lawrence just couldn't believe he was alive and well. He knew he was dead before. Somehow he has forgotten something—something so important that it left a big hole inside his heart.

"Alpha, you're awake." His beta, Leo with his mate Ema, entered the room with such worry.

"What happened? Who brought me here?" Lawrence asked and the both of them just looked at each other.

"Neil brought you here. You were left unconscious somewhere." Ema lied but she knew she had to.

"That isn't possible. I swore I feel death arose earlier but I'm still fucking alive." Lawrence sits up and just stares blankly on the floor, "and I feel that I have forgotten someone or something.."

Lawrence pulls his hair all over the place, trying to remember but seemingly it hurts. His neck was still really sore and he stopped. He rubbed his neck gently and painfully. His neck looked fine but on the inside it was still crushed and swollen.

"You need to rest, alpha." Leo suggested and Lawrence just went silent for seconds until he answered a yes.

All of the pack members had a meeting before their alpha woke up—about not mentioning Claire. It would be devastating to know that Claire has also forgotten about him somewhere not far from his pack. Lawrence would also put the blame on himself if he finds out that Claire sacrificed her memories just for him to be saved from a wound so deep that it could never be healed by a normal wolf gene. It was an alpha's bite after all.

Three months have passed and Lawrence's neck was still hurting but he just learnt how to deal with it. While he was training and running, he came across a couple. He knew by the looks of it, they were mates. They exchanged lovingly glances and smiled whenever one of them speaks up. He saw how they also kissed.

Lawrence was disturbed not because of the affection they are showing but because he knew he has felt something like that but just can't pinpoint what.

He begins to run another lap again and this time—he was distracted by how he felt that he had a mate before.

"I swear, Leo, I must have had a mate before." Lawrence was sitting on his swivel chair as he mind-linked Leo earlier to come here.

"I thought this was urgent." Leo sighs, "Ema is pregnant and I had to tend to her care."

"This won't be long." Lawrence said and had a strange feeling inside when Leo said about Ema being pregnant.

Now Lawrence has a feeling that he has impregnated his unknown mate before.

"Whatever it is, alpha, it might be some damage to your brain." Leo crosses his arms, "and didn't we tell you to rest? Your neck is still not fully healed."

"Yeah I know but it won't be unless I just sit here all day." Lawrence growls.

"Woaw woaw, steady! All right, I'm going! Ema needs me!" Leo storms out from the office, leaving Lawrence dumbfounded.

A week has passed and Lawrence finally knew the answer.

He cried and punched the wall when he knew.

He knew he had a mate called Claire Evans and he completely forgot about her.

When he was rummaging through his closet, he found a box contained with stuffs he doesn't know. It was a memorabilia about Claire. It contained clothes, notes, and a cellphone. Lawrence took the cellphone out and saw the wallpaper.

It was them in an amusement park.

Then everything completely washed over him...

All of the memories..

All of their love..

All of their encounters..

How they kissed.. Hugged.. Made love..

How he also had a child with her..

And how.. He failed to protect her..

"Alpha!" Leo entered Lawrence's bedroom, "what happened?!"

"Call Neil right now!" Lawrence growls and uses his alpha tone.

"I can't tell you where the luna is, alpha." Neil was calmly just sitting there, not fazed by his alpha's outburst, "she promised me not to tell you."

"Why would she do that?" Lawrence rubs his hand on his face in agitation, "tell me now, Neil. WHERE IS SHE?!"

"I can't, alpha. I solemnly swore to her and she told me I should protect you."

"I don't need fucking protection and I want to know where Claire is now!" Lawrence almost broke his deck because of how he pounded this.

"She did this because she wanted to let you live, alpha. Don't interfere with her decisions."

"She is carrying our child and I'm not there to support her, Neil!"

"She will come back and you just have to wait!" Neil raised his voice but the stayed composed.

Lawrence couldn't know what to do anymore.. Knowing he has a mate, it made him completely depressed.. He wanted Claire to be by his side now.. He is longing for her..

"I can't.." Lawrence face-palms, "fuck.. I can't.."

Neil knew he had to be tough around the alpha but he also knew that a month by now.. The alpha will fully heal.

"You just have to wait, alpha."

"What do you think I'm going to name my baby boy, Marie?"

"Neil and I decided to name ours as Anna!" Marie is already 3 months pregnant—the same as Claire but only Claire will be 4 months pregnant tomorrow.

Claire became sixteen years old 3 months ago to be exact.

"I have a hunch on mine. What about Lawrence?" Claire chuckles excitedly and Marie's face fell.

But then Marie composed herself and just shook her head while smiling.

"That's a bit common. Try something a bit unique."

The both of them sat in the living room, talking about baby names and all girly stuff when suddenly the main door opened—revealing Marie's mate, Neil.

"Neil! I missed you!" Marie stood up and went to him. Neil slowly puts his arms around Marie and kisses her softly on the lips.

Claire is jealous on how they found one another—while her.. She didn't knew how she got pregnant but she just let it flow. She missed someone as well—someone who is like her mate.

"Claire, I got a surprise for you." Neil smiles at me and I stand up while holding her tummy.

"Oh, what is it?" Claire asks and then he saw a man entering the house.
