Chapter 8- The Name

Antonia/Sabrina's POV

The setting sun wakes me up as its blazing light shines on my eyes through the window. Groaning, I get up and start to get ready for the day. When I walk out of my room, I am greeted by someone apart of my personal guard, Donovan. He smirks at me and I smile back in a flirting way, lifting my eyebrows suggestively.

"Hello, your majesty." He says in a deep voice

"Why hello there Donovan." I smile at him, and hear Ivy's voice interrupting the moment.

"Come on Nia, Cora is expecting you."

"Stop calling me that!" I roar and glare icily at Ivy. Her eyes widen slightly and I feel a tendril of Darkness brush up comfortingly against my clenched fist. I breathe deeply in and relax my hands.

"Fine, sorry. I forgot you got brain damaged and you can't even remember your own name so instead of going by what your name is, you choose one that is the feminine version of your ex connection mate." Ivy states coldly. I growl at her and stalk forward menacingly as she steps back, a hint of nervousness and fear shining in her eyes. I laugh maliciously as I pin her against the wall, but I am pulled back before I can attack her for what she said to me.

"Calm down Sabrina." Donovan commands as he pulls me back. I growl at him and rip my arm out of his grasp, turn into a sabertooth tiger and run off. I sprint through the winding castle halls to the throne room, where Cora would be expecting me. Ivy better not follow, or I might do something that nobody would like. When I get into the room, I turn back into my human form and walk up to Cora.

"Hello, my dear Antonia..." Cora starts, and I immediately interrupt and shout

"Don't call me that! It's Sabrina!"

"Oh yes, I'm sorry dear, I forgot. It'll take some time to adjust to your new name, you have to understand that. But, you do have the kingdom to run over the night. So get to work!" Cora replies smoothly. I nod and sit in my throne to the right of Cora's.

"So, what is there to do?" I ask

"Just look over any problems that our citizens have, and why not help start building the villages in the mountains that you suggested?" Cora suggests, and I nod in agreement

"Alright, I'll do it. See you later. Also, do me a favor, tell Ivy to avoid me tonight." I shift back into my sabertooth tiger form and go to the tunnel that leads to the village. I arrive and go back to being human and see all of the carpenters working on the foundations to the houses and tunnels for the village that will be in this mountain. I look around at the work that has already started in awe. It has a weird beauty to it.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" A Dark Warrior, Spencer, says to me, surprising me.

"Yeah, it is. I can't wait to see it when it's done, it'll be stunning." I say, smiling wide. He echoed the smile

"I agree. Are you here to help work on it?" He asks

"More like do all the work." I tease. We both laugh

"Hey, you only are able to do more work than us because of your Earth powers!" He argues, and I say with a grin

"Yeah, sure..." He rolls his eyes in a joking manner as we walk through the steadily progressing village to the undeveloped parts, where we get to work on the foundations for buildings, houses and even stairs to different levels of the mountain, where more of the village will be. I get to work for half of the night, when I get called back to the throne room to work on other issues. I do that for the rest of the night and go back up to my room to sleep the day away.

Ivy's POV

"She is so ridiculous Cora!" I exclaim to her "Saying that her actual name sounds weird, and picking one that's the closest thing to Saber! She has gone insane, I swear! And, earlier, she was flirting with one of her personal guards! Flirting!" I pace back and forth and I hear Cora sigh in annoyance

"Ivy, just stop, okay? She suffered a major loss, losing your connection mate in the way that she did, then she brutally killed all of her friends and her uncle. It snapped her mind. Give her a break, and go to bed. You'll need the rest for tomorrow anyway, so go." Cora commands, dismissing me. I huff and storm off, going back to my room.

It is so unfair, Cora so obviously prefers Nia just because she is more connected with her Dark Earth powers. I push down the jealousy and anger I am feeling to be calm and go to bed. Cora is right about one thing, I need the rest for tomorrow. Being princess is hard work.

Saber's POV

I pace in Marie's old house with Angel and Inferno sitting in the living room staring at me somberly. I feel anxious, and it hurts to have the connection closed off so tightly. It feels unnatural. But, it's not the right time to let Nia know that I am still alive, so it has to be done.

"Saber, stay calm. Nia will be fine." Angel says, trying to soothe me.

"How do you know? She brutally murdered all of our friends and her uncle because Ivy 'killed' me! She has probably drastically changed, and I don't know how I'd start to get her back to her normal self." I exclaim in frustration and stop my pacing to sink down on the sofa, putting my head in my hands.

"I could try to weave your dreams together so you share the same dreams, and could talk to her that way. You could attempt at slowly changing her there." Angel suggests.

"Good idea." I agree "Let's try it."

"It'll be harder since its day time and both of you are awake, but I will try. I might have to do it again at night time." Angel explains, and I nod in understanding. She closes her eyes and slips into the dream realm. I feel a weird sensation in my mind, and a few minutes later, Angel opens her eyes.

"Did it work?" I ask. Angel answers

"Yes, it did. But, it was the strangest thing. Nia was asleep."

"Weird. She must have become nocturnal. I'll be sure to ask her about it if I can."

"Alright. Are you going to see her aunt today?"

"I'm going to start the journey there, yeah. Speaking of which, I should get going. I'll see you guys later." I walk out of the house with Inferno and Angel calling out bye from behind me. I go down the road and head to the portal, then through to where I have to deliver some bad news.

Author's Note:
Sup kittens! I know that this chapter kinda was filler, but I am just starting the lead up to other things that are going to happen. It won't be very dark, just kinda normal stuff that goes on. But, it's how Nia/Sabrina reacts to it. Also, the whole name thing with Nia will probably be a bit confusing at first until everyone gets used to it, and just calls her Sabrina naturally. So to help with that, I will have her POV title be both of her names, like in this chapter.
