Chapter 26- The Confusion

Angel's POV

The sun is rising, I should check up on Saber and Sabrina. I'm sure they're already doing a lot better, since they're reunited. Closing my eyes and emptying my mind, I reopen them to reveal the dream realm. The sight of it brings a smile to my face, and I release my grey wings. I fly over to Saber and Sabrina's joint dream, dropping into it.

"So wait, if I have these powers, this must mean that I killed Cora... and I'm the Dark Earth Queen. I can't be Queen! I'm too young!" I hear Sabrina wail.

"Shhh, you'll be fine, I know you will. I'll be here to help you as well." Saber replies, calming her down. I immerse myself fully into the dream and see them in a tight hug.

"Hi guys!" I greet, hiding my confusion. Sabrina gasps and lets go of Saber, running to me and hugging me.

"Angel!" She exclaims.

"Hi... what is going on right now?" I ask

"Well we reopened our connection and it brought Nia back." Saber explains with a shrug. What?!

"Yeah, I still don't get that. Saber didn't explain that to me. Back from where?"

"Nia, when Ivy 'killed' Saber, you just broke. You couldn't remember anything, and wouldn't believe that your name was Antonia. You would get extremely angry when people called you Antonia, and decided to change your name to Sabrina. And..." I say, but stop when I think of Amaro. This is bad. He's not going to be happy that Sabrina is gone and it's now Nia, who hates him and doesn't trust him.

"And what?" Nia asks, looking between me and Saber. "What aren't you guys telling me?"

"Well... Sabrina is kinda sorta soul-bound to Amaro." I cautiously respond. Nia stares wide-eyed at me in shock, shaking her head in denial.

"So the other part of me that was created is in love with Amaro, and has a bond?" She clarifies. I nod my head somberly, and she shakes hers in denial. "No. No no no no no! No way can this be happening!"

"Nia, can you try to stay calm, please?" Saber asks of Nia and hugs her from behind, bringing her against his chest and keeping her there with his arms around her stomach. She sighs and leans back into him, saying softly

"This is all a lot of information. I want time to take it in, no, I need time to wrap my head around all of this. Can you allow me that?"

"Of course we can." Saber states confidently. I agree

"Yes, you can have as much time as you want, don't worry about it. Just relax." I smile encouragingly "But, I'll be going now. I'll leave you two here." I close my eyes and slip out of the dream realm, opening them again to show Saber's bedroom. Sitting in front of me, grasping my hands in his own, is Inferno. He opens his eyes to see that I am back from the dream realm, and he smiles brightly.

"Hey Angel, how's everything going?" He asks. I groan and explain

"Crazily. Sabrina is actually Nia because Sabrina decided to reinstate her and Saber's connection so they could talk whenever they want but what happened instead is that now in her mind it's split, and there's Sabrina and Nia, and right now Nia has come out to play and didn't know about any of this and the last thing she remembered was seeing Ivy kill Saber..."

"...Which was Sabrina's first memory. So, Nia is back?" Inferno ends off by saying, and I just nod, too exhausted by all of this to do much else. I check on Saber's body, making sure it's in a healthy, controlled slumber that I could slip him out of in an instant. When I do, I notice that he has more color in his skin and he has a smile on his face.

"I need to check on Sabrina's, no Nia's body." I sigh "Oh god she's going to kill me with all of this confusion."

"I'll come with you." Inferno replies, and leaps quickly on his feet, following me out of the door. We walk over to Nia's room, but soon come across Amaro.

"Angel! Why are you here?" Amaro snaps at me, and Inferno lets out a slight growl angrily. Amaro smirks and snorts, looking at Inferno "Nice guard dog. He's like a little yappy chihuahua." I sigh and try to move past him, but he won't let me get by.

"Let me past Amaro, I need to check on Sabrina." I tell him, and he immediately becomes panicked.

"Why? Is something wrong? What happened?" He questions, silently demanding answers. So, I give him those answers

"Sabrina looks like she's made of no more than skin and bones, since she doesn't want to see you and you couldn't let her see Saber. That weakness you feel, the burning desire to see her, the inability to sleep, not feeling hungry, those feelings are worse for Saber, and worse yet for her. She hasn't eaten since the day that she lost not just you, but Saber. She stopped drinking soon after, and can barely walk to her bathroom by herself. Most of the time she just lies there."

"Why are you telling me this?" Amaro asks angrily, clenching his fists.

"I'm telling you because you need to know. I'm also going to tell you that if you want to see her again, you'll bring down that wall. Otherwise, she'll stay right where she is, happy with Saber in their dreams." I say, walking past him to go to Sabrina's room. This time, he lets us walk past.

When we get there, I place my hand on her to see what her sleeping condition is. I gasp and take my hand away, tears springing to my eyes. I stumble backwards, and Inferno catches me in his arms. Me being a dead weight causes him to lower both of us slowly to her floor.

"Angel, what's wrong? Come on, please, talk to me." Inferno begs, the concern he has for me etched in his voice. I sit there staring at her body, unable to control the tears. Everything soon drifts away as I only focus on her, and what I found.

Hehe... hey kittens. Nice little cliffhanger for you! I know how much you all love them, so I just had to add one in (😈). I actually got an idea when writing this that I could include into this book, but I feel like it'd make it unnecessarily complicated. I don't know, but I'll figure it out, don't worry about it.
