"Seriously?!" Venus nearly yelled as the address printed on the receipt. It was her last week of work and those damn boys would not stop requesting her as their deliverer.
She sighed and swung the door to her car open.
At least it's the last week.
She almost smiled, wondering what kind of lame thing they would say when she knocked on the door this time.
Last time they had said something about 'getting cucked' she wasn't sure what it meant and had forgotten to look it up.
Why are you smiling?
Vee caught herself and wiped the smile off her face. She tried to find a different reason to smile instead. She searched her brain and thought back to the job she had just scored, the reason that she only had one week of delivering left. That was a reason to smile right?
The drive was quick but peaceful and before she knew it she found herself rolling her eyes before knocking on the door, once again pondering their odd sayings.
"Why hello good sir." The man who usually answered the door said.
"Wow, something not so odd for once." She gave a half smile and handed over the food.
He thanked her as once again the rest of the boys flocked to the door. They all thanked her and payed her before she spun on her heel and headed back.
Vee let herself glance over her shoulder and saw that one of the guys was still standing at the doorway, he winked at her and she felt herself blush and forced herself to look away.
"Why are you all flustered?" Casey asked as she walked in.
"Uhhhh." Venus stuttered. She gave a small laugh. "Just those dumb boys again."
Casey chuckled and nodded at her as she headed to the back.
You have to admit that he was kinda cute...
Venus shook her head, trying to tell herself that she would never see them again.
"You ready to go?" She heard Casey call from just around the corner. Vee took a second to gather her thoughts and put a hoodie on before slipping around the corner to meet Casey.
"What do you want to do?" Casey asked.
"Well I was thinking about maybe going to the pier?" She almost questioned herself.
"Sounds good to me, did you want to work on more photography?"
Vee flashed a smile. "You know me so well." She grinned wider and pulled her camera out of her bag and looped it around her neck.
It was a short drive to the parking garage, but a long walk to the actual pier.
"I'm so excited." Venus exclaimed as she took a few steps towards the Route 66 sign.
"I'm sure you are." Casey fist bumped her.
"We have to see Matt!" Venus shrieked as she remembered he was here most days.
"Alright, alright." Casey said and pulled out his wallet, neatly folding a 20 dollar bill into his fist.
Vee skipped happily, humming Riptide as she went along the wooden planks of the pier.
Matt was normally towards the end of the pier, so Venus took her time taking photos here and there as she made her way with Casey.
The two finally made it to where Matt was doing his cover of "Count on Me" by Bruno Mars. Venus tossed a ten dollar bill into his guitar case and patiently waited for him to finish.
She smiled to herself and glanced to her right, only to see a group of guys laughing, and getting ready to pass them. She took a closer look and realized they were the same ones trolling her during her deliveries.
So much for not seeing them again..
She sighed and felt a slight blush creep up and turned to Casey to tell him.
Casey gave a chuckle and turned his head back to Matt as the boys got closer.
Venus lowered her head, trying not to look up and make eye contact with any of them, unfortunately for her Matt had just finished and was calling her name, it was only instinct to look up.
She made quick eye contact with the one who had winked and her and blushed wildly before running over to Matt and pulling him in for a hug.
"Hey wait, aren't you the delivery girl?" She heard a voice behind her ask.
"The w-what?" She stuttered, trying to pretend she wasn't.
"Awe don't worry, you're cute when you stutter." One of the guys said. She hid her face behind her hands and moved closer to Matt.
Luckily for her, Casey had sensed the awkwardness and had gotten Matt to start up a little love song that he was "singing" for Venus.
She blushed, but felt less awkward as the guys dispersed, looking disappointed with each other.
"Thanks guys, I owe you."
