28. Forever?

"Venus!" 

The girl turned around, not expecting to see Casey standing behind her. She was in line getting coffee before she was going to head back to the house. Bunny had something to take care of so there wasn't much for her to do.

"Casey?" She squealed and ran to hug him. "It's been so long!" 

"Trust me. I know." He laughed, hugging the girl tighter to him.

"I'm sorry Case, I've just been so busy." 

"No, no, it's okay, I promise." He smiled. 

"Okay." Venus said, taking a deep breath. 

"Do you maybe wanna go to the pier like old times? Maybe see Matt?" 

Venus thought for a second. 

"Yeah, that sounds really good." 

"Alright." He smiled, linking elbows with the girl and pulling her out of the coffee shop.

The air was warm and swirled around the two as they made their way to the pier, passing by all shops and restaurants, taking care not to get hit by any skateboarders.

Casey seemed to be in a hurry and Vee was struggling to keep up with his pace. 

"Casey, slow down Jesus Christ!" 

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry, it's just been so long since I've seen you." 

"I know, I know, but I'm not going anywhere." She laughed. Venus adjusted the camera around her neck and smiled as the pier came into view. 

As they started their walk down the hill to be at level with the pier she noticed that Casey was almost shaking.

"You okay?" 

"Peachy." He smiled before letting go of Venus's arm and breaking into a sprint. 

As Venus caught on to what was happening she saw Sneaky standing at the bottom waiting for Casey. 

She laughed as he caught Casey in his arms and they spun around. 

"You two are ridiculous." She giggled as she caught up with them. 

"No you." Casey said, sticking his tongue out at the girl. 

"Sneaky, what in the world are you even doing here?" 

"I'm meeting Casey, couldn't you tell." 

"I didn't even think you two knew each other." 

Casey giggled. 

"That was the goal." 

Venus lightly punched Casey as they made their way towards Matt's usual spot. 

"Awww, look at the ground!" Venus said as she watched her own footsteps. White petals were floating around, some already landed, scattered about the floor. 

"That's really cute." Sneaky tried to suppress a laugh. 

"Are you making fun of me?" 

"Of course not." 

Matt wasn't in his usual spot, which meant he was at the back of the pier.

Venus smiled, as it meant she got to take in the other singers and performers before coming upon him. 

"Casey, I'm really excited, I haven't seen Matt in forever." 

"I know you haven't." He smiled. 

Venus really smiled, her heart opening up, taking in everything around her, just in that moment, everything was perfect, and she wasn't sure it could be any better.

As they all made their way past all of the restaurants near the end of the pier Venus could hear Matt's voice. 

He was mid song, the words flowing sweetly from his mouth. 

Sneaky and Casey both stopped near the edge as Venus got closer to be in his line of sight.

Maybe it's all part of a plan

Venus smiled, this had always been one of her favorite songs, and hearing Matt sing it, just made it even better. 

I'll just keep on making the same mistakes
Hoping that you'll understand

As Venus looked to the ground around her, the white petals still blowing softly around the wood of the boardwalk, she smiled, a warmth growing in her chest.

As she looked back up she felt arms snake their way around her waist and turned to see Bunny standing behind her. 

Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars

She turned and placed her hands on his chest, resting her head so he could rest his chin the top of it.

That maybe we found love right where we are

Venus stepped back to kiss the boy. She stood on her tiptoes locking her lips to his, the breeze of the ocean moving her hair softly around her shoulders, the waves making the perfect sound behind the music of Matt's guitar. 

Nothing was better, nothing could ever be better. 

Oh maybe we found love right where we are

Bunny detached from her, resting his forehead briefly on Venus's before kneeling down to the ground. 

And we found love right where we are.

He pulled out the ring. 

Venus smiled brightly, placing her hands over her mouth. 

She hadn't noticed the gathering of people, or the fact that the entire team had made it to the pier, she didn't even think about how Bunny knew she was there, it had all just... happened. 

"Venus, that first day I found out you were quitting I was torn apart at the fact that I would probably never see you again, I didn't even know who you were, but I felt the connection, I needed you in my life, it was destiny that you ended up working right next to me, not knowing what was happening. You've stuck with me through all the bumps, and the good and bad times, and I was hoping maybe you'll stick around for more. Venus Nicole Allen, will you marry me?" 

Venus was nearing tears at this point, everything had happened so fast, and just when she thought her life couldn't get any better, it did. 

"Yes, yes of course." She squealed, calmly letting the boy place the ring on her finger. He stood up and kissed her, so full of passion. 

"I love you to the ends of the Earth, Venus Allen."
