Venus attempted to shrug the tiredness and stress off of her shoulders and back, but it was no use. She hadn't gone to sleep until very late, or early, depending on how you put 3AM into perspective.
It wasn't really her fault, or it was, but she didn't think that Bunny meant it when he said that they were going to Skype all night.
She pulled herself out of bed, trying to start off the day with some sort of positive thinking, at first it was hard, until the thought of going on a date with Bunny popped into her head.
"Shit." She whispered to herself when she remembered, she didn't really think about that or how it was going to play out. Should she come home and change? Would it even matter? Where the hell were they even going?
She let a few questions swim around in her head as she got ready for her day at work. It was a Sunday, so there weren't a whole lot of fancy things they could do, which was a relief for Vee.
Venus nearly jumped out of her skin when her phone buzzed from the other side of the counter as she finished straightening her hair. She picked up the phone slowly to see she was getting a call from Casey.
"What the fuck do you want?" She asked.
"I was wondering if I could get a ride with you to the games today, I don't really want to drive and park and stuff you know."
"Yeah sure whatever." She knew that he really just wanted to bother her about Bunny, but Casey was her best friend and she didn't want to disappoint him, after all he had gotten her this opportunity in the first place.
"Thanks Vee I love you."
"Love you too." She hung up the call before heading out to her car.
She was thankful that Casey lived on the way there because she probably wouldn't have had the patience to go out of her way.
"Venus! Are you excited for tonight?" Casey was bubbling as he got into the car.
"I mean yeah of course. You seem more excited about it than I am." She laughed.
"Well, you know, just my best friend, going on a date, for the first time in forever." He laughed at her.
"You're right, it's been so long since I've been on a date." That thought hadn't really crossed her mind either, what was she supposed to wear, and say, and do, and expect? The whole idea seemed kind of nerve wracking to her. "Maybe I'll just stay home and play Doom Bots."
"You can't ditch Bunny like that!" Casey gasped.
"I mean, I can. It's just not very nice." Vee laughed as she pulled into the parking lot.
Casey nudged her before jumping out of the car and heading towards the studio.
"I only have the first two games to take care of today and then I'll come sit with you alright?"
"Sounds good."
The two split off and Venus headed in the back towards the C9 room.
Before she could get there she was spun around.
"Uh, what?" She asked as she realized it was Bunny.
"I just, what do you want to do tonight?"
"I have no idea, I don't do this kind of thing."
"Me neither, I honestly didn't think I'd get this far."
Vee giggled. "Listen, I'd really love to help you but I've got to get to the Phoenix 1 practice room, I'm already running late and I don't want to get in anymore trouble."
"No it's okay, I understand, are you going to be here for game 5?"
"Yeah, not photographing though."
"Okay, I'll come find you then." Bunny sighed, an almost defeated look washed up onto his face.
Venus wanted to ask him what was wrong, and why he seemed so upset, but she really had to get to the room. She pulled him into a quick hug.
"I'll text you okay?"
"Okay." Bunny replied before spinning off and heading back to the C9 room.
