16. Suddenly

"Venus, we need to talk." 

"Yeah we do, it's been nearly a week since you even tried to talk to me." She got off of the couch where she was waiting for Jensen to come back, to stand next to the boy who was in game, but clearly distracted. 

"Listen." 

"I'm listening." She said, not sure if it would be appropriate to kiss the top of his head or not. 

''There's a lot of pressure for me to do well right now, I have been under performing in scrims, and with the split coming to an end these last games really matter." 

"Yeah, Jensen told me." 

"Wait, what do you mean he told you." 

"He told me that you seemed distracted in scrims, and that he thought that I might be part of the reason why." 

"Well... Yes and no, but I don't mean it in a bad way Vee, I really don't." He said. 

"What are you trying to tell me Michael?" The smile dropped off of her face, this was what Jensen was talking about. 

The straight look on Bunny's face dropped into a hardened, not quite focused stare, probably because she had never used his real name with him before. "I just, I need to focus more, and I need to be able to do well in these games because if I don't maybe I lose my spot, maybe we don't qualify for Worlds, I don't know..." He trailed off, clearly stressed by the topic. 

"Okay, well, we can work things out you know." Vee started, she glanced over at Bunny who was nodding slightly. "We can just plan the times different, maybe we only hang out on Mondays since that's your off day, or we only hang out on Saturday and Sunday after your games and that's it." She sighed, slightly okay with what she was saying. 

"You don't get it Venus." He had stopped nodding, and was clicking harder than he had before, the grey screen of death showing up shortly after. He put his head in his hands, sighing loudly. 

"I don't get what?" She was confused now, thinking that he was willing to work things out with her.

"I can't have you in my life right now." He sighed, his head dropping to meet the desk. 

"I don't- I don't think that's fair." Her bottom lip quivered, she blinked hard, keeping the tears from forming. 

"What do you mean it's not fair, I gave you a reason." 

"You just, didn't even t-try to work things o-out with m-me." She was almost shaking at this point.

"I don't have time for this." He lifted his head off the desk, not even glancing at the nearly crying girl that he had just hurt. "Just get out." 

"W-what?" She was shocked. 

"You heard me. Get out." His voice was sharp, and his words stung like bees. 

"B-but." 

"GET OUT!" He was practically screaming now. 

Something clicked in her. 

"Fine, but you'll see, video games aren't going to be there for you when shit goes down, hell you haven't even looked at me the whole time, really shows how much you care." She huffed before turning around curtly and walking out of the gaming room to find Jensen. 

A look of realization struck Bunny's face once he had processed what she had said to him, he didn't want to believe her, but she was completely right, and there was nothing he could do about it. 

"Jensen, Jensen please." Venus said, the anger in her had faded out and she was close to collapsing in sadness and frustration. 

"Venus?" She heard from the top of the stairs. She was trying to get up to him but she felt so weak. 

"Please, it's not fair." Her anxiety was kicking in. 

"Come on, it's going to be okay." He cooed, he made his way down to wear she was standing on the stairs and picked her up before carrying her to Sneaky's room. 

Without knocking he nudged the door open, and seeing that his bed was free, put her down before sitting down next to her. 

"What's going on?" Sneaky said, getting up behind them and closing the door. 

"God damn it, you guys warned me, and it still hit me like a truck." Vee said, sitting up and wiping the tears from her face. 

"Son of a bitch." Sneaky glanced sideways, "is that the yelling I heard?" 

Vee nodded, "he didn't even bother to look at me the entire time." 

"That bad huh?" Jensen asked, offering her a tissue. 

"I guess so." Her tears were slowly stopping. 

"I'm sorry Vee." Sneaky said, sitting down next to her. 

"I mean, we all saw it coming, it just makes life so hard now you know? We didn't even end in a friendly way, he just, yelled at me and then it was done. Gosh, things are going to be so tense now." 

"I know what you mean." Sneaky replied. 

"I just really hope that he realizes what he did, and that we can at least be friends at some point." She sighed, laying back onto the pillows.
