26. Recovery

"Guys this recovery is really looking not good." Bunny said, the entire team was sitting around the couch, just hanging out.

"Dude, you'll be fine." Sneaky said, trying to be positive.

"I mean, even if I am fine, I don't think I'll be able to keep up with you guys." 

"Hmmm." Jensen hummed, slightly agreeing with the boy. 

"We can see alright?" Danan asked.

"Alright." Bunny sighed. "I imagine that once everything comes off though, I'll get sore easily yeah?" 

"You're probably right, but you'll get stronger." Venus said.

"You're right, it'll be okay." Bunny lightly smiled and grabbed her hand. "I'm really thankful for you, I'm thankful for all of you guys, thanks for sticking by me." 

The team gave a collective welcome, and cheered for the boy. The chatter continued for a few hours before everyone dispersed.

"Vee." Bunny turned to Venus, tears nearly pricking his eyes. "I'm going to have to retire." 

"Shhh." She hushed him. "It's going to be okay." She climbed on top of him so she was straddling him and wrapped her arms around his neck. 

"I really hope so." He smiled. 

"It will be." She promise and kissed his forehead. "And no matter what, I'll be her for you through everything." She kissed him. 

"Vee, I love you so much." 

"I love you too." 

There was a calm moment of silence before Venus broke it. 

"So are you going to tell the team you're retiring." 

He inhaled sharply. "I think so, but I think I'm going to pull an OddOne and just stream full time." 

Venus thought about it for a second. 

"I think that would work out really well for you. You can choose your schedule, and if your arm is bothering you there's no worries to play, unlike there would be if you had scrims." 

"Yeah." He smiled bigger, "I think everything is going to be okay."

"Danan?" 

"Yeah." 

"You're pulling in a sub for me right?" Bunny asked.

"Yeah, he should be at the house any time within the next few days." He gave a sorry smile to the boy. 

"Do you think maybe he could just step in full time for me?"

"Are you saying you don't want to play anymore?" 

"Not necessarily, but I do think that just full time streaming would do me better."

"I see." Danan smiled. "I think we can arrange that." 

"Thank you so much." 

"Yeah anytime, I'm sorry that all of this happened to you Michael." 

"It's okay, I'll be okay." He assured him. "Plus, I can pick my times and work with my arm." 

"This is true, do you want to tell the team, or would you like me to?" 

"I was thinking maybe you could announce it when the sub shows up."

"I can definitely do that." 

"Thanks again dude. It means so much" 

"Anything for you." 

The two bro hugged before separating.

Just as Danan had said, the sub showed up the next day. 

The team had gathered in the living room, ready to meet their new support. 

"Welcome to the house." Danan said, leading the boy over to the rest of the team. 

They all sat patiently waiting for him to introduce himself. 

"Well uh, hi guys!" He waved. "I'm Andy Ta, but you can just call my Smoothie if you want." 

"Oh hey! You played for TDK yeah?" Sneaky asked. 

"Yeah, that was me." He smiled. 

The boys took a few minutes to introduce themselves before Danan asked for silence. 

"I have one more announcement to make." 

The team said attentively waiting to hear it.

"With the arrival of Smoothie, Bunny has decided to step down from his position as support on the team to become an in home streamer, retiring his spot from Cloud 9." 

There was a collective gasp around the room.

Woohoo. Guys, I'm actually so excited that Contractz is going to be starting for C9 now, I've been waiting for him to play in the LCS forever (since he was too young before)
