19. Stage

Vee was just about to turn off her computer when she remember the crumpled up note she had stuffed in her pocket. 

She quickly opened Skype and sent a contact request to the boy. Within seconds it was accepted. 

LOD: Hey what's up??
Venus: Not much, what about you?
LOD: Just got done with scrims, was about to go to dinner. 
Venus: Oooo, where at?
LOD: Not really sure yet, we haven't made a decision xD
Venus: seemsGood
LOD: Lol, you doing anything tomorrow after the games? 
Venus: Nah, my best friend is out of town, and the C9 boys told me to take a break from them, because Bunny is all over the place. 
LOD: Awe, that sucks, do you maybe wanna do something together? 
Venus: That would be fun :)
LOD: Cool, cool, I'll see you tomorrow then?
Venus: For sure.

Venus was grateful that she only had to photograph the first two series of the day, because she was exhausted, and nothing sounded better that getting to sit back and relax instead of stressing over angles. 

EnVy played first, but LOD promised that he would wait for her to be done so that they could do something together. 

She found him sitting in the front row behind the VIP seats after she hopped off stage. 

"Hey." LOD said, standing up to meet her. 

"Hey!" She smiled. 

"Do you wanna stay for the rest of the games?" 

"Sure." The idea seemed okay to her. He lead her back to where he was sitting before, in the front corner, against the railing. 

The people sitting next to him had left for the day so there were open seats, which Vee used to stretch out on. She pulled her legs up and rested her head on LOD's lap while they waited for the next series to start. 

She looked up at LOD who was on his phone and smiled. 

It was a nice break from the drama and she was glad that he had found her. 

The games passed by fairly quickly considering that Venus fell asleep during the wait and missed two of the series. 

LOD shook her gently awake.

"C9 is playing and I thought maybe you would want to watch." He smiled, helping her sit up. 

"Oh, yeah, thank you." She giggled and rubbed her eyes. 

She directed her attention to the stage where the boys were in front of her. They were in champ select and they seemed like they were doing good with their draft. 

The camera cut to the different shots of the boys who all seemed in shape, except for Bunny. His eyes were bloodshoot like he hadn't slept in a while. She saw the boy yawn before the camera switched back over to the energetic Jensen. 

She shook her head, attempting to wake herself up a little more. 

Slowly but surely the game started, there wasn't much action in the first few minutes of the first game, but as it dragged on more and more started happening. 

Venus could tell that Bunny wasn't playing his best and that he wasn't focused and she could tell from the reactions of the boys that they were getting frustrated too. 

As if they couldn't end soon enough the games were over, C9 with two devastating losses. She felt bad, but in the end it wasn't her fault. 

She stood up with LOD to leave the arena as the boys were cleaning up their gear. Venus managed to lock eyes with Bunny, resulting in a death stare from him, she felt her heart break a little bit. Tears welled up into her eyes. 

Vee slowly reached down and grabbed LOD's hand, intertwining their fingers as they rushed out.
