That is exactly what this is: a selection of characters — heroes or villains — that are close to my heart.

THE LIST:
Batman
Korra
Katniss Everdeen
Roman Reigns
The DOOM Marine
Dean Ambrose
Amon
and The Arkham Knight.

My selection may seem a little random, but here's why each of these guys inspire me and are some of my favorite characters in fiction:

1. ROMAN REIGNS/CONVICTION: Reigns does whatever he desires, and does it wit confidence and determination. No matter how many people boo him, or how many obstacles come his way, he sticks to his morals as a Good Guy in order to achieve his dream.
If there was a factor I'd want from Roman Reigns (besides his looks, muscles, Superman Punch, Spear...) it would be his Conviction.

2. DEAN AMBROSE/DILIGENCE: The Lunatic Fringe is... a crazy guy. Taking pride in his own "Unstability", Dean charges forward, clawing and dragging himself toward his dream, regardless of what the powers that be think. He may begin to sound like Roman Reigns, but he's a whole other thing; what gets me to click with Ambrose is his Diligence. He never stops fighting and clawing and gritting his teeth until his hand is raised in the air, even if it's over a former brother. This is why the psychopathic superstar will forever remain in my circle of favorites.

3. KATNISS/INSPIRATION AND LIGHT: The Mockingjay was forced to carry an entire rebellion on her shoulders after an act of friendship in the Arena. When she witnessed the horrors of the Capitol firsthand, she makes the decision to be the Mockingjay and Inspire Districts and countless people, all while facing seemingly insurmountable odds. If I had to be the face of a rebellion, I would pray that I could be the Inspiration and Light for the hopeless like Katniss Everdeen.

4. KORRA/ INDEPENDENCE AND BEING UNAPOLOGETIC: The Avatar succeeding Aang caught my eye with her combo of being tough, fun, and confident in her every aspect: she may come off as cocky some times, but I kinda love it. I see Korra as Independent, not afraid to barge into battle with or without backup. She's totally Unapologetic for who she is and what she does, or how she uses her power.

5. AMON/EQUALITY: To be clear, no, I don't like Amon cause he's a terrorist. I admire and love the head of the Equalists for other reasons, like his primary one for taking up the mask; Equality. That's a touchy subject these days, so characters that touch on it have an impact on me. If I were to become a Bad Guy, it would be to establish pure and final Equality for every man and woman, something that the US Declaration of Independence states to be true. Because so long as the idea exists that one man is above the other, war will never cease.

6. THE DOOM MARINE/TOUGHNESS: The Doomslayer is a Badbutt — plain and simple. What more could there be to admire about this guy? Actually, more than you think. For a character that doesn't speak at all outside of the comic he had, the Marine says a lot whenever you play any DOOM game. First off, he's a flipping Marine. We all know who those guys are. But if you read about the original DOOM, the Marine was sent to Mars for refusing to fire on civilians. He was lucky he still kept his job, and Earth was lucky to have him defend against the hordes of Hell. It takes pure guts to put your life on the line and it takes even more to deny an order and put your career on the line as well. But that didn't stop him. Then he had to face all of Hell's wrath save for Satan himself. And instead of letting the world burn in judgement, he stood up for the innocents of the planet and became a one-man war machine against the supernatural. I haven't heard of any other character who could face the forces of Hell or the corruption of the US and get out alive besides the Doomguy.

7. THE ARKHAM KNIGHT-JASON TODD/CREATIVITY AND REDEMPTION: Even I wouldn't have come up with a name like "The Arkham Knight". As the eccentric and Creative leader of a militant operation, he is one of the driving forces in a plot to get rid of the Batman on Halloween Night. But then it ends in a twist following his reveal. Jason Todd takes the path of the Gotham vigilante — even if with guns — and heads out to deal justice and Redeem himself, not allowing the Joker's torture and his own mistakes define him and his life.
And seriously... That Arkham Knight outfit is pretty darn sweet.

8. BATMAN/....:
We all know the origin of Bruce Wayne; parents tragically murdered at young age, inherits company, goes off to train as with assassins...
The Dark Knight is my favorite character. EVER. Nothing will change that.
There are a few things I love about him...
Batman would never kill, following a Code and always attempting to save every life he can — even the Joker's. He's a man of Faith in that way, hoping that criminals would be inspired by their lives being preserved and become someone better.
Bruce Wayne Rose from his tragedy and became Great. He didn't allow that Tragedy to define his actions and thoughts, other than that being his motivation into becoming the Dark Knight.
He sees the corruption within his home, and he Fights against it, either alone or with his Robins beside him. He is a master in almost (if not totally) everything, dedicated to Rising Above the Standard and Fly across rooftops, inspiring others to take a Stand against evil in all forms.

THAT is who the Batman is to me. A Dark Knight of Hope in the darkness of cities or countries like Gotham.
THAT is who Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose are.
THAT is why regardless of how her series ended, Korra has a place alongside my cherished heroes and memories.
THAT is why Amon's message and Equalists matter today.
THAT is who the Mockingjay is.
And THAT is what Jason Todd truly represents.

Sorry if that was a little preachy. I was sort of just releasing my feelings about these characters and how they spoke to my heart. I also learned some things about those characters I'd never knew were there.
Anyways, that is my Dream Team — the characters at the core of my heart and the core of what and who I want to be.

I actually have 2 more Dream Team lineups left. Don't know if I'll do the whole character dissection thing I did with them, but I'll definitely be having fun.
I dare you guys to set up your own lineup of favored characters! If you don't feel like drawing, that's fine. List them in the comments and why they're your favs. #Just4Fun
