HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I can proudly say that on the second day of 2017, I have beat the story mode of Mortal Kombat X, putting my skills with my best character in the game — Cassie Cage — to use against Shinnok. (Minor spoiler alert)

And here it is;

So as the team of Cassie, Kung Jin, Jaqui Briggs and Takeda, I found trying to piece those characters together hard

So as the team of Cassie, Kung Jin, Jaqui Briggs and Takeda, I found trying to piece those characters together hard. I may do it later, but when I don't feel like killing my brain over cramming four characters with distinct body language and weapons onto a piece of paper.

But I definitely wanted to draw Cassie Cage. So I decided to draw her, her father Johnny Cage (old man to your left of the page) and and her mother Sonya Blade (other woman to the right).
I really focused in on getting Cassie's physique right, as she has this girly-but-buff-and-tough body, almost like DC's Power Girl; I really proud of how it came out(hope that's not creepy) — not too burly but not small and skinnier like a Wonder Woman type of figure. Then the other focus was her gun; I felt inspired to do an M4 Carbine instead of her standard pistols.
Another focus point was the ground Cassie and her parents stand on, using a lot of black and shadows as would be done when drawing snow-covered mountains, except this time for shading to show off the ups and downs of rocks.
Other than those things, I'm really proud of how Cassie's face came out — probably one of the cutest girls I've ever drawn. Would love to hear opinions!
And then I really love how Johnny and Sonya's faces came out.

MKX takes place 20 years after a certain event. Johnny and Sonya are still alive, and obviously you see their daughter in the SF with them. BUT — I don't know why, but NetherRealm Studios made their faces look not-so-old. They just had pale hair and a few extra lines that don't really do much. So I took it to another level and added the necessary lines and wrinkles to highlight more of their age.

The flag, tanks and men above I put there to give the picture a feel of a comic book cover and frame the picture, and to also divert your focus to the trio, as the stuff up there isn't interesting enough to keep it.

Please let me know what you think of this piece! I'm really proud of this, and would love to know how to make the next one better.

Happy 2017 guys!

Thank you for all the support of the past year, especially those who are consistent like Spectralx and @Doctorchild . My level of gratefulness and appreciation doesn't have words. All the (constructive)criticism and and tips have really paid off, even if it's something simple like making sure a girl's lower arm muscle isn't too thick every time a draw a girl's arm.

See you later!
