Sorry once again for the hiatus! Please excuse this, as I genuinely want to upload, but am very busy working on original pieces/concepts and studies.

I originally drew this piece of my trusty little notebook. Then I simply digitized it and touched it up to get this.

The hard part was figuring out shades of dark and light. I used a technique a friend used to color digitally to get this:

Instead of having the shaded areas just be the same color getting darker and darker, every time I went darker, I moved the hue on the color palette, so it became a different color every time I used it. I also learned this trick from watching YouTube videos from professional comic colorist K. Michael Russell, who also used a similar technique.

So that explains why the darker areas of the outfit may end up as a purple on the blues and the lighter areas on the red end up as a pinkish tone.

As of her face itself, I originally wanted to stray from coloring the lips too much, but looking at other cartoons and comics and seeing that even characters who aren't super girly have pinkish-colored lips confirmed that it was necessary. I just didn't use any hints of eye cosmetics, as I believe that would take away from Captain Marvel's character.

The idea of the eye laser-light was just me and my geekiness. I see that used all the time for cosmic people or even just people who blast out their eyes (Superman/Girl, etc).

The coloring was the most time consuming on this piece. I would love to hear opinions on this.

Other than that, please let me know what you think of this as a whole! I aimed for a comic bookish style for this, as my own style of females needs to be developed finer and more often, although I am thinking of attempting a realism portrait for females soon.

Later! 🤘🏽💀🤘🏽
