Arguments are the worst.

No matter if you love the person or not, arguments are tiring.

Unfortunately, Akaashi loves Bokuto. A lot.

That meant having fights were painful, even over the stupid things.

Akaashi, who was tossing around in his half sleep, was definitely feeling that pain now. Bokuto was kicked to the couch in the evening, and it left Akaashi feeling cold at night without him to cuddle with.

He was mentally cursing himself for being so sad over a petty argument, when he heard a loud sniffle from their livingroom.

Akaashi, immediately worried, pulled the covers off of himself and ran out the bedroom door.

Since their apartment was really tiny, he didn't have to go far to find Bokuto holding his knees to his chest on the couch with tears in his eyes.

"Kou! Kou what happened?" Despite their little fight, despite all the words they said to each other, Akaashi put it all aside and got on his knees facing the couch so he could hold Bokuto close to him.

That only made him start sobbing, and Akaashi should not have found that cute. He did, though. "N-- no. I'm just..."

"What?"

"I thought you hated me! That's why I'm crying. I don't ever want you to hate me!"

Akaashi let out a little pained laugh and held Bokuto's face closer to his chest. "Hey. Shut the hell up. I could never hate you."

"But..."

"Bokuto, listen to me." Akaashi made him sit up again, and he moved to wipe the tears away carefully. "I love you. I love the way you smile and laugh, and I love the way you give hugs and I love the way you give everyone the love they deserve. I admire your strength, and the way you mask all of your feelings with one bright smile, even if you aren't the happiest man in the world. But I really want to make you the happiest man in the world, even if I'm not doing the best job right now."

The metaphorical stars were definitely shining in Bokuto's amber eyes, though, and since neither of them had any more words, Bokuto took this opportunity at two in the morning to kiss him.

And Akaashi returned those kisses. They moved slow and careful, like someone woukd break. Even when Akaashi climbed on top of Bokuto onto the couch and they pulled huge blankets over each other, they were gentle and loving.

After all that wiggling around and lips against lips, Akaashi let out a long, satisfied sigh followed by a laugh. "I can't believe we fought over who was doing the laundry today."
