Akaashi woke to the sound of crashing pots and pans, and Kuroo shouting "mOTHER OF CUNTS" at the top of his lungs.
To be honest, he was barely even startled. He was barely scared for his life this time, and it was even scarier that he was expecting this. Despite his sleep deprived state he carefully got up and out of bed, kicking Bokuto's backpack over in the process.
"Kuroo? Kou?" He called out through their dark apartment, and frantic whispering filled the place. Rolling his eyes, Akaashi walked into the kitchen and put a hand on his hips, not surprised to see Kuroo half covered in cookie batter and Bokuto with chocolate all over his hands. They were both on their hands and knees on the hardwood floor, picking up pots and pans that fell.
"Lemme guess," Akaashi sighs, putting a hand to his aching head. "You got hungry in the middle of the night, and wanted to make the 'ultimate' cookies?"
Bokuto looked up at Akaashi with a guilty frown on his face, "You don't understand 'Kaashi, I was so hungry!"
"I made cookies yesterday!!"
"They're not the ultimate cookies," Kuroo pouts, and Akaashi narrows his eyes over at the messy haired boy.
"Are you two legitimately kidding me right now?" Akaashi snaps, and the two older boys look at each other. "If I really have to act like the mother around here, I'll get out my thickest belt and whip you like your actual mothers should ha--"
"Wait, Keiji!" Bokuto interrupts, and Akaashi seriously considers getting a belt.
"Don't call me that."
"Sorry. 'Kaashi!"
"That's not my-- what do you want?"
"Do you want to try a cookie?" Bokuto asks, and Kuroo gets up off the floor and opens the oven. Akaashi finds himself hesitating-- he totally could go for a cookie right now, but he really shouldn't.
But the oven opened, and they actually smelled good. Like, really good.
"They're the ultimate cookies! You can help make some, too," Kuroo gives Akaashi a big grin and a way too obvious thumbs up to Bokuto. Akaashi wrinkles his nose in an attempt to ward the evil cookie smell away, but it was just too good.
Before he knew it Akaashi found himself taking a nice soft cookie off of the tray, saying, "Just one batch, okay?"
---
It wasn't one batch, or one cookie. Akaashi ended up stealing cookies from behind Kuroo's back two hours later, cackling like an idiot.
At the back of his mind, he wondered why the hell Kenma hasn't woken up yet and why he hasn't yelled at them to go jump off a bridge like usual, but that wasn't important.
"Hey, get back here!" Bokuto starts after him down the small hallway of their apartment, and Akaashi manages to hide behind their couch for a little until he starts choking on his laughter (and cookies) and draws Bokuto's attention.
"Hah! Found you," Bokuto grins at him, and Akaashi tries to run and hide but no one can escape Bokuto's arms.
No one really wants to, either.
So the two ended up wrestling each other behind the couch, with cookie crumbs everywhere.
Kenma was definitely going to kill them when he woke up.
"Give us back those cookies!"
"Never!!" Akaashi tackles Bokuto to the floor, and they collapse into a fit of giggles with their faces into each other. The younger one manages to get another cookie into his mouth and grins at Bokuto. "I'll let you have a taste though."
Bokuto's innocent curiosity was killing him. His gold eyes were so pure and sweet and adorable. "Like the Pocky game, but with cookies?"
"Mmm hmm." Akaashi can't help but blush a little, and neither can Bokuto.
He doesn't even answer, just takes a nice bite from the other side of the cookie. Akaashi ends up laughing as crumbs fall on Bokuto's face, and he takes this chance to take the rest of the cookie from him.
"Hey!! No fair!" Still, Akaashi doesn't sound mad. Especially with the huge grin on his face that he can't stop.
"See, look at what you did Kou," Kuroo leans over the couch, peering down at the two other boys. "You broke Akaashi. He's actually happy."
"Well, maybe I've just been a little stressed lately," He replies, brushing crumbs off of Bokuto's chest and helping him sit up. "But you know what would be great?"
"If Ouran got another season?"
"That's-- that would be great too but I meant... could we do this again?"
Bokuto and Kuroo give each other the look. The look they give when they have an evil plan, or a great idea, or just something big and dangerous in general. Akaashi already knows what that means.
