"Why do you look so sad all the time?" Bokuto says to Akaashi out of random one day in the locker room, earning barely an alarmed look from the younger boy.
"I'm not sad."
"How come you never smile, then?"
Akaashi lets out a tiny sigh, already done with where this conversation was going. "What is there to smile about, Bokuto-san?"
Bokuto looks a little bit taken aback by that, while Konoha turns around to give the two a smirk. "What do you mean? You have me to smile about!"
"The only thing I'd smile about relating you is your death," Akaashi shoots his eyebrows up and Konoha has the taken aback look on his face also.
"Okay, that was a good one I have to admit," Konoha sighs, defeated, and turns back to his locker and conversation with Komi.
"But I've only seen you smile like, once! And your mouth wasn't even open!"
"What's your point, Bokuto-san?"
Bokuto lets out an exasperated sigh, and Akaashi just rolls his eyes. "How about we have a bet?"
Akaashi frowns. "A bet?"
"Yeah. I bet I can make you smile by the time it's practice tomorrow."
The younger boy narrows his eyes, suspicious. "What's the catch?"
Bokuto hesitates a second, pondering a good enough punishment, but soon enough a wide evil grin appears on his face. "If you smile even once, you have to kiss me in front of the entire team."
Akaashi visibly slumps, eyes widening just barely. The two ignore Komi and Konoha in the background screaming "I ship it, I ship it!", while Akaashi takes in a deep breath.
"I didn't realize you were so desperate, Bokuto-san."
"Roasted!" Konoha shouts across the locker room. Bokuto's mouth goes slack.
---
"Akaashi! I have another one!"
Walking through the hallways of Fukurodani, Akaashi could only close his eyes and count to ten at the sound of Bokuto's voice that next morning.
Yesterday was a fail for Bokuto, he tried everything. Jokes, comedy shows, flirting-- but Akaashi kept a blank face, even when Bokuto went sulking back home late that night.
"Bokuto-san, your owl puns don't make me smile. Unless you want me to hang myself I suggest you refrain from telling me them."
The older boy only flashes a startled look as he rushes to catch up to Akaashi. "But this one will make you hoot with laughter for sure!"
Akaashi stops in his tracks to give Bokuto the most annoyed look he's ever had on his pretty face. Bokuto responded with an innocent smile.
"Wait, Akaashi."
"What?"
"Are you ticklish...?"
Akaashi hesitates a few seconds, not having the bravery to tell him that he most definitely is ticklish. A lot.
Bokuto gets the point, an evil grin on his face. "I have an idea on how to make you smile."
No. No please. Akaashi's eyes widen as Bokuto leads him by the hand to the gym locker rooms. "Follow me!"
"I'm not really sure this is a good idea--"
"Of course it's a good idea. A great idea! Fabulous! Amazing!" Bokuto grins, proud of himself, while Akaashi quits his struggle and follows limply after his elder.
They aren't too surprised to find Konoha and Komi there, getting ready for some early practice.
"Hey, what's up? Did Akaashi smile yet?" Komi grins at the two when they walk in.
"Not yet! But I have an idea."
"Owl puns?"
"Already did that," Akaashi whispered, obviously in mental pain.
"I'm so sorry to hear that," Konoha says, putting a hand to his heart. Komi rolls his eyes and Bokuto claps his hands together, ignoring the other's fooling around.
"I'm going to tickle Akaashi!!"
Konoha raises his eyebrows. "Akaashi's ticklish?"
Akaashi tries to walk out of the locker room, but Bokuto takes his hand and pulls him back. "Where are you the most ticklish?" Bokuto gives him another innocent smile.
"L-- like I'd tell you?!" Akaashi is no longer amused by this bet, he's annoyed. Weirded out, when Bokuto starts to tickle him out of nowhere, while Komi and Konoha raise their eyebrows simultaneously at them.
"Agh-- ah-- sTOP!"
"Not until you smile!"
Akaashi grits his teeth and tries to wriggle away, but Bokuto has a firm grip on his hand while his other hand tickles Akaashi's sides until finally he laughs. He laughs and laughs, and Bokuto has to stop and stare at Akaashi for a second because his smile and his laugh are so cute and he feels so blessed.
Finally, Akaashi composes himself, straightening his back and yanking his hand away.
"Haha, you lost," Konoha snorts, and Akaashi only flips him off.
"Finally! I did it! We have been blessed by the beautiful smile. All hail out lord and savior Aka--"
Trying to find a way to silence Bokuto's boasting, Akaashi tugs his shirt close to him until their lips meet. They stay like that, slowly kissing until Akaashi pulls away.
"Are you fucking happy now?" Akaashi scowls.
"Yes." He is really happy. His eyes are wide with happiness, and his entire body is happiness. "Wait! Only Komi and Konoha saw."
The other two in the locker room are giving each other unreadable looks, "Oh, we saw all right."
"But the others didn't see! You have to kiss me again!"
Akaashi's face flushes so quickly, Konoha silently prays for his head because all of that blood rushing can't be healthy. "No."
