Tom stood up at Rhydian's reaponse, He wasn't exactly with the situation. "Are you sure, mate?" He asked confused. Why did Rhydian want to find Maddy all of a sudden? Of course he wanted tk to it a long time ago, but why now?
"Positive" Rhydian replied confidently.
"But what do we say to our parents?" Shannon asked. She didn't want to ruin the confidence he was expressing, but they couldn't just run off without a plan. That wouldn't be safe.
"Nothing" Rhydian said blankly
"Nothing?!" Tom and Shannon asked in shock. Saying nothing seemed like too big of a risk.
"Are you sure you're right in your head today?" Tom spoke.
Rhydian laughed at his friends, "Come on Tom, its been four years! And besides, our families are going to think we're at college! And I'm sure it won't take that long to find her," He added.
Shannon stood up. "But I want to go to college, though."
Rhydian rolled his eyes. Only Shannon would say something like that, "Come on guys! This is Maddy we're talking about!"
Tom sighed, still unsure of the situation, "Okay, but can we wait a few days? I want to spend some time with my family first."
"Me too," Shannon said.
Rhydian nodded as the bell rang to start class.
*******
After school Rhydian said goodbye to some of his classmates and got ready for the break. He took the path through the woods back towards his house. Once Rhydian got home he put down his backpack and headed back to the woods.
When he arrived at the woods, he took his usual running route. He'd been there so many times with Tom and Shannon after Madddy left, but it just wasn't the same. He never laughed the qay he used to when he was with Maddy. He was never so open, and didn't really have anyone to share things about being a wolfblood.
He walked to the river and stared at his reflection. In his opinion, he didn't look that much different than he had four years ago.
At that moment, he picked up a scent from his left. He sniffed the air again, trying to identify what it was. What was thus mysteruous scent? And why is it here in the words? It wasn't a human scent, more like...
A wolfblood's.
He turned around, and a black and brown wolf was walking to him with a blue paper sack in it's mouth. It's eyes were a piercing yellow, and it's mouth was in a small snarl.
Rhydian could tell this wasn't Maddy. Her wolf would've been bigger and more of a lighter brown and hopefully would have recognized him.
Rhydian tightened his fist, "What are you doing in my alpha's territory!"
The wolf's nose moved as if it was smelling the air.
"I said, WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY ALPHA'S TERRITORY!" Rhydian shouted at the wolf. They had no right to just walk into the Smith's territory as if it was their own.
The wolf suddenly dropped the sack that was in it's mouth and began to transform into a human.
In the wolf's place was a girl who look roughly fourteen with caramel coloured skin and blackish hair with brown highlights with half of it in a poonytail. Her once yellow eyes were now a hazel-gray colour. She had a few dirt spots on her face, and she was dressed in a baggy grey t-shirt with a faded black denim jacket with ripped blue jeans and dirty white converse shoes.
The girl stared at Rhydian, her face blank, but her eyes were staring at him observantly, "Are you Rhydian Morris?" She asked, almost demanding.
Rhydian's anger disappeared and was replaced by confusion. Who was this girl? How did she know Rhydian's name? What did ahe want?
"Who are you?" Rhydian asked, but his fists still clentched. He still hadn't gotten an answer.
The girl held out her small hand as if to do a handshake. "I'm Demetra, from Jana's pack."
So what do you think Demetra is doing in Rhydian's territory? Why do you think she is there? And sorry if this is boring, but it will get more interesting later!!
