Without hesitation, he wraps his arm around my waist and within a minute I am back on the rocks.

"Guys, we have one more siren we need to kill." I announce as my friends stand in shock at my appearance.

Jake was tied down, along with Chase. A chill runs down my spine.

"Chase." I murmur underneath my breath.

Suddenly, I hear Cade scream. I turn to face him covering his ears and on his knees.

"Fight it, Cade!" I yell running towards him.

Ash grabs him by his shirt and screams, "come on, Cade!"

I look out into the water, and there sits the siren on a rock not far from here. I sprint for my bow and arrows and start climbing up the side of the cliff. I find a ledge, and stand on it. I go to grab and arrow, but it slips from my hand. I fumble with it, and by the time I grab it, the siren is gone. I load my bow and scan the area. Then, I see the merman in the siren's grasp.

"KAI!" I scream into the fierce wind.

The siren slips off of the rock and swims towards us. I keep my arrow in my bow, but climb down from the cliff-side. I see Cade tied on the rope and Ash struggling on the ground.

"Let them go!" I command.

"Offer me a trade." A soft voice whispered in my ear.

The siren suddenly appears in the water just in front of the rock. I look back at Ash, the boys, Hazel, then back at Kai.

"If you let my friends, and Kai go, I won't kill you." I compromise.

"No. Bigger." The siren counters.

I inhale deeply, then move my ankle, checking to see if I had any weapons left. Nothing. I checked my pockets, but all my blades were gone. I sighed deeply, then saw Cade's sword, caught in between coral and the rock formation we were standing on.

"Take me." I offer.

"Why would I want you instead of all these men?" The siren hissed.

"Because I am the prophecy." I announce, showing her my bow and arrows.

Kai starts scrambling in her arms, screaming, "no!" It is too late. She lets Kai go and lunges for me. I dive for the sword and feel my elbows and knees burning from the rocks piercing my flesh. I barely get it in my grasp before I flip it over and put the handle part into my chest. Just as I turn around, the siren is on top of me, lifeless. I feel blood ooze out of her and onto my soaking jacket. The icy wind penetrates my sopping clothing and makes me shiver. I shove the siren's body off of me and get to my feet. The boy's all snap out of their trance and Ash uses a knife to cut the rope. My skin was burning. Hazel stirs and finally opens her eyes.

"Hazel?" I ask, struggling to get to my feet.

"Hey, Sam." She giggles.

Before I could even hug her, I hear a whistle. I turn to see Kai on the rocks, gesturing me to come over. I give Hazel a look, telling her to wait a second. I limp over to Kai who bows down to me.

"Thank you." He says.

"Get up." I laugh staring into his sea blue eyes.

"If I had known who you were, I would've treated you with the respect you deserve." Kai says.

"Oh, I'm not actually a prophecy." I say.

Kai gives me a strange look, then grabs my waist. He pulls me towards him and lifts up my shirt.

"Hey!" I say but he smiles.

"What?" I add looking at my waist band.

"You most certainly ARE the prophecy." Kai says gesturing towards my waist.
