( s3, e11: our town )
JEREMY KNOCKED on the door to Matt's house and smiled when Ariel opened it up. He needed someone to talk to, and his first thought was the angel who helped out everyone. She let the Gilbert boy in and informed him that Matt wasn't home; it was Caroline's birthday today and they were out celebrating. Ariel knew Caroline, but she didn't want to intrude on the party.
"Actually I'm here for you," Jeremy says a taking a seat on the couch. "I need someone to talk to and you're the first person that came to mind."
Ariel let out an 'oh' and sat down to next to him. "What'd you want to talk about?"
"I'm going to Denver soon to stay with family. I don't know, all of a sudden it just felt right to go there."
Ariel knew something was strange when Jeremy seemed excited about moving to Denver. His whole life he grew up in Mystic Falls; he couldn't have made a decision this quick to move to Denver when just a while ago he loved it here. "But I thought you loved Mystic Falls? It's where you grew up and where your whole family and friends are."
Jeremy sighed, "I know, but I need to go to Denver. Mystic Falls isn't just right for me anymore."
"Well whatever you want Jeremy, I support it."
After a little more conversation between the two, Jeremy left and Ariel was left alone yet again the Donovan house. Matt had told her one night about how messed up his family was: sister dead, dad who's been gone since he can remember, and mother who goes around to hook up with guys and checks in once in a while.
"Well, you got me," Ariel had told him. "And I'm not going anywhere."
Matt had actually teared up and hugged the angel. She felt like family to him and Matt loved her dearly.
"Deep in thought?" A voice asked from across the room.
Ariel's mouth dropped when she saw Kol – or the ghost of Kol in the room. She was confused still; how can this happen? "How are you in here?"
"Well since I'm technically dead, ghosts can see someone if they're willing to see them. You wanted to see me so...here I am," Kol smirked gesturing his hands to show his presence.
Kol continued though, "I'm having a problem though. I see you've done quite nothing to get me out of that coffin permanently, and I should be angry about that. But the thing is, I can't seem to be mad at you and it's ticking me off."
Ariel smiled as she stood up, "That's part of our bond Kol. It must be getting stronger by the day."
"No no no. Why do I feel all giddy and warm inside? What is this? I'm supposed to be evil, a psycho, an original who everyone fears–"
"It's call having heart," Ariel cut him off. "I can make you better Kol. As well as me protecting you, I can change you. You can be a better man."
That's when Kol finally got angry, "What if I don't want to be a better man? What if I want to be the way I am? Think of me for once Ariel!"
Kol picked up the nearest object towards him and threw it. He didn't mean to, but before Ariel could duck the glass cup hit her in the back of her head. Luckily, her hands had shielded the impact, but there were still some scrapes and cuts on her hands.
Kol's eyes widened as he realized what he had done. "I am so sorry–"
"I don't want to see you anymore; leave!" Ariel said looking back at him. "So sorry I just wanted to help you."
Kol tried to say another apology, but he vanished and his soul was right back in that coffin. She picked up her phone and called Matt, saying where the party was being held at. Matt told her where to go and she was soon on her way.
