05. connections

( s3, e12: the ties that bind )

KLAUS WALKED through the door to the Salvatore boarding house and looked around cautiously. "Why invite me here?"

"Because Matt wouldn't allow you in this house," Ariel replied pouring him a glass of bourbon. "Plus I wanted to talk to you about something."

Klaus nodded as the angel handed him his bourbon. She took a deep breath before continuing, "What you said that night you saved Caroline, about the 'why I never think about killing you', well I know the reason. I'm an angel as you already know, but I was sent down for a reason: to protect someone. That happens to be your brother Kol."

Klaus' eyes widened and he shook his head. "What does this have to do with me?"

"You're apart of his family so I basically have a small connection to the whole family," She said. "Whether you like it or not, you or anyone with the last name of Mikaelson will never have the urge to kill me."

Klaus scoffed, "Yeah okay. You haven't even met Kol yet."

Ariel stayed silent for longer than she should and Klaus stared at her. "Okay I pulled out his dagger when I found Stefan with them–"

"You did what?" Stefan's voice echoed throughout the boarding house as came in. The vampire looked between the two; disgust filling him when he saw Klaus.

Ariel's eyes went wide when she realized that Stefan had heard her. "He was harmless and he didn't escape did he?"

"Why are you even here?" Stefan asked, mainly to Klaus.

Klaus stood up and set his bourbon the table. "I want my family back. My hybrids left town as you demanded, so please tell me what I need to do to get my family back."

"Well, you see Klaus..." Stefan sat down on the chair across from them. "I'm not negotiating."

"Klaus needs them Stefan. I need them," Ariel begged. She couldn't go another day where Kol was in that coffin.

"Nope, sorry. Klaus, you leave Mystic Falls and give me a call in a few years, and...we'll talk," Ariel and Klaus both got angry at Stefan's choice of words. The angel could not wait a few years.

Klaus pursed his lips. "I'm going to give you another chance. Just one more. Let's make a reasonable deal; for Ariel's sake."

"Or what? Do you think I care what Ariel thinks?" Stefan asked leaning forward. "You make one more move and I'll–"

Klaus starts to laugh, "Yes, that's right. Crazy Stefan mhm. How's that working out for you? Any friends left?"

Stefan looked at Ariel, but she shook her head. "Oh hell no. You thought I was your friend? Well, screw you Stefan. You're a complete dick."

Ariel lead Klaus to where Stefan was keeping the coffins. She knew people were going hate her, but if it meant getting Kol out she wouldn't let anything/anyone stop her. The two had been waiting for a while to see if anyone would show up. Ariel then heard footsteps and saw Damon walk to where the coffins were supposed to be. The ancestors were hiding them so no one would see them.

Klaus came out from the dark and smirked at Damon. "What took you so long? Hiding behind your witchy friends, and in squalor no less–"

Fire from the candles rose up as Klaus screamed in pain; falling to the floor. Damon smirked, "Insulting a bunch of dead witches...not smart. I made the exact same mistake first time I came in here."

As Klaus continued to feel pain, Ariel came running out of her hiding spot and protected Klaus. She made an invisible shield around him to where he wouldn't be effected by the witches; she just didn't know how long it would last.

Damon then spotted the angel and his eyes narrowed at her, "Are you working with him?"

"If it means getting Kol, then I'll do anything," Ariel said making direct eye contact with the raven-haired vampire.

The shield went away as the ancestors were working all together and were too powerful for Ariel. Klaus screamed again in pain, but he had a plan.

"Well, you know the funny thing about the witches is that living or dead, they care about their own. A hundred dead witches have a thousand living descendants..." Klaus puts his hands to his head as he screams out in pain. "And I have no problem killing every last one of them if I don't get my coffins back! As we speak, my hybrid friend is prepared  to end the Bennett line."

Ariel was taken aback as she didn't know about Bonnie and her mother. She was fond of Bonnie and knew she was a good friend of Matt's. Before she could act, the flames dimmed down and Klaus knew he had won.

"Now, please...show me the coffins," In a split second the coffins appeared.

Ariel immediately spotted Kol's on the far left. She could feel his presence within the room, but if she made a move for the coffin she knew Damon would get her. There was a problem though; only three coffins were visible. Where was the fourth?

Ariel noticed this first, "Where's the fourth?"

Klaus got angry and looked around the room, thinking the ancestors weren't showing it. "Show me!"

Damon cleared hid throat and the two looked at him. "Well, eh, here's the thing; they can't. It's not here."

"What did you do?" Klaus asked walking up to Damon.

"Well, Bonnie have me the heads up. I mean, I didn't have enough time to get all four, but I did have time to get one."

"I will tear you limb from limb–" Ariel held Klaus' arm before he could do anything else. She wasn't going to get Stefan another reason to hate Klaus.

Damon sighed and looked at the two, "I know you two want Kol, Finn, and Elijah. But, I think you Klaus want what's in that fourth coffins a lot more."

Ariel sat by Kol's coffin, wanting to take the dagger out of him badly. Daniel – his hybrid – rolled in the last coffin. They had all gotten polished and looked better than all of the dust on it.

After Daniel was done, he looked up at Klaus. "You have your family back. Finally. You're going to open them?"

Klaus looked over at Ariel who had listened in to their conversation, "Not quite yet. I still have some unfinished business to take care of."

Klaus walked out of the room and Daniel followed him. Before Ariel could say anything, Elijah ripped Daniel's heart out. She gasped as she stood up and saw Klaus' eyes widen.

"So, Niklaus..." Elijah trails off with Daniel's heart still in his hands.

"Elijah?" Klaus whispers.

Elijah turns towards Ariel and quirks his head to the side, "Who is this?"

GUYS KOL COMES IN NEXT CHAPTER AND I COULDN'T BE ANYMORE HAPPIER. I want her and Klaus to have a good bond + her and Rebekah. Idk about Elijah, I kind of want a love/hate relationship for them. What's a ship name for ariel and kol??
