ARIEL'S HANDS traced over the stake with the hunter's symbol on it. She looked back up at Jeremy who was fixing his collar on his shirt.

"It's the hunter's curse taking control of you," The angel came to a conclusion. She set the stake down, it already giving her chills.

"Maybe I'm developing an alter ego like Alaric did," Jeremy gave up on fixing his collar and looked back at his friend. "I died too many times with that ring on my finger!"

Ariel shook her head as she knew that wasn't the answer. "Back when I were learning about the hunter's curse, it stated that newly awakened hunters may not be fully conscious of their actions. It's like their subconscious is pushing through until the urge becomes a natural instinct."

The angel got up and walked over to Jeremy. She placed her hands on his collar and fixed it for him. "You need to tell them Jer; you can't be living with your sister who's a vampire. You either tell everyone, or I will."

"Fine," Jeremy sighed as he finally caved in. "I'll tell them."

"Ugh, get a room you two," Caroline groaned as she sat down at the table they were at. "And could you please tell your brother to stop following me around?"

Kol chuckled and turned towards the blonde vampire with an amused smirk on his face. "Oh Caroline, why can't you accept my brother's love?"

"He's so in love with you," Ariel smiled at the thought of Klaus 'loving someone'. "Plus, Klaus is not a dick when he's around you. Give him a chance."

"Ew no that's–"

"Am I interrupting something?" Klaus walked over to the group with his hands behind his back. He looked at Caroline and smiled, "Can I borrow you?"

Caroline simply nodded and walked away with Klaus. Kol turned back to the angel and smirked, "Now where were we..."

Ariel put her hands on Kol's shoulders and pushed him back a little, "Me getting a drink."

Ariel stood up and looked for a guy with a drink platter. On her little walk around the place, she bumped into Jeremy. "Hey where were you? You left April up there all alone, but Matt came in and rescued her."

"Sorry, I um got caught up at work," Jeremy's heart raced a little and Ariel knew he was lying.

The angel pulled him to the side where no one was around to hear them. "Spill, or I'll look into your head for the answer."

"That doesn't sound pleasing," Jeremy mumbled as he knew he had to tell the truth now. "Stefan made me kill a vampire. He wants the mark to grow so he can get the cure for Elena."

Ariel rolled her eyes and mentally groaned. "Everything has to be about her. I wish she'd just go away, no offense."

Something clicked in Jeremy's mind when Ariel said 'wish she'd just go away'. He was going to say something, but he saw someone they both despised across the way. "What's Professor Shane doing here?"
