Oh she shouldn't have done it. She shouldn't have pulled her father's work tablet out of his bag before he left for work and hid it. She shouldn't have gone into the notes and files that were classified. She shouldn't have read the one titled in large, red letters: 'CLASSIFIED. ONLY FOR THE EYES OF THE PARADIGM'
But she was oh so curious. She was too curious for her own good. She was too curious for anyone's good.
But it's a good thing she read it, or else she wouldn't have known, and she wouldn't be sitting at her computer, waiting for her friends to join her in their Skype call.
"Come on!" She muttered, her leg bouncing violently, occasionally hitting the underneath of her desk. Her eyes snapped up as a familiar male voice traveled through her headphones.
"What was so urgent that you had to call us at eight in the morning?" El asked, clear tiredness in his voice.
"Just- Just wait for the others to get here." She responded.
Luckily enough, two more faces appeared onto her computer screen.
"Hey! What's going on?" Sophie said, slight worry apparent on her face.
"Yeah. Addie, what's going on with you? You're never up this early." Lilia added, slightly nodding.
Addie quickly reached over, pulling the tablet off of her desk. "Guys, I was looking through my dad's tablet. He's been acting super weird lately. More protective towards me. More lovey-dovey towards my mom. This is why." Her voice shook with every word, her hands shaking as well as she pulled open the file. She lifted the tablet up so it could be clearly seen by the others.
"Guys..." She started, taking in a small breath. "The Paradigm... The Paradigm is going to start the apocalypse."
