It had become very apparent to the rest of the group that El and Lilia started to act much more parental and protective towards Addie. Of course, after being questioned, the two filled in the others.

However, Addie seemed extremely oblivious about the others' actions. She took it as an effect of the apocalypse starting.

The group was almost to the Paradigm's lab site; the only place in the world that could possibly hold a cure for the disease spreading across the nation.

It would be an understatement to say the majority of the group was nervous about going. What would they do? Just walk up, knock on the door, and demand the cure?

No.

That wouldn't work.

That couldn't work.

Thankfully, Lilia had come up with a type of plan, and it dealt with Addie taking up the title of the daughter of one of the most important Paradigm members.

The plan was rather simple.

Addie along with El, who would take up the job of acting as a fake guard for Addie (She could easily defend herself, thank you very much), would go up and ask about a cure, as she would pretend she got bit, but she had yet to turn.

If they questioned how she knew where they were, she could easily say her father talked about it.

El would proceed to ask about the chemicals and materials of the serum, making it seem as if the female could be allergic to something in it.

While that was going on, the other three would be on a call with him, listing down anything that was in the serum.

"Are you sure this will work?" Addie asked as the two walked towards the entrance of the building.

She earned a small breath from El.

"It better. If not, God help us all."

The plan worked flawlessly up until they got to the actual lab room.

There they met the two main scientists working on the project, along with an intern from a nearby high school.

Dyan, the lead scientist, was easily identified by his bright orange hair. He was also identified as the one to get the truth out of the two teens.

Dosik, Dyan's fellow scientist, was easily identified by her piercing hazel eyes and deep brown hair. She had easily agreed with Dyan about this.

Gally, the intern to Dyan, was easily identified by the darkness of her hair, making the dark brown looked similar to black from a distance. It didn't take any convincing from both parties for Gally to believe what they said.

"We should help them" were the first words heard after Addie and El's explanation.

All heads were turned to the dark brunette, both of her superiors' eyebrows furrowed.

"And why should we do that?" Dyan's voice was firm, though it seemed much more intimidating to Addie due to a good ten year age gap.

"I mean, think about it Doc, you didn't want any part of this." Gally said as she looked up at him. "You didn't want to have to have the pressure of creating a cure, and you sure as hell didn't want to make the virus in the first place. This can stop it all from destroying the nation."

Silence filled the room for a moment.

"She has a point, Dyan." Dosik said. Despite only being twenty, definitely one of the youngest scientists here, she wasn't afraid of stepping up. "We didn't want this. We might not know these people or their group, but they want to do good."

It took a moment for the doctor to respond.

"Fine."

Several held breaths were released.

"But, you and your friends will be staying here tonight. We have quarters you all can stay in. If we're going to be trying to get this cure around half off the west coast, we need to get as much sleep as possible so we can get more of this made."

"Thank you, Dr. Dyan." Addie said, a large grin plastering on her face. "I swear, you won't regret it."

"You better hope I won't. I'm already doubting we'll succeed."
