Not long ago, both Ate and Gally had woken up. The two were now chatting away, constantly being told to hush by Lilia, who still had a sleeping Dosik next to her.

Dyan was still driving in the front seat. However, he was falling in and out of consciousness at a dangerous rate.

Lilia quickly noticed this by looking in the rearview mirror, before telling the older to pull over.

He did so without protest.

After pulling over, Lilia almost leaped out of her seat before making Dyan switch her. Not even a minute later they were back on the road and Dyan was asleep.

The rest of the ride to their destination was rather quiet and uneventful, besides the occasional 'zombie' they came across and the constant chattering between the two girls in the back.

"So how long were you guys working on the serum or whatever it is?" Ate asked, her head tilted ever so slightly.

Gally's eyes slightly widened before she glanced up at the rear view mirror to meet Dyan's eyes. She received a small nod.

"Well, I've only been an intern to Doctor Dyan for about two years or so." Gally started before lightly chewing on her lip. "But the total number of years?"

There was a nervous pause.

"Almost ten."

Ate's eyes drastically widened. "Ten..?" She asked, rather hesitantly. She earned a nod. She tried her attention to the doctor, looking at him through the rear view mirror. "You've been working on a serum to zombify the entirety of Ocrad, for ten years?"

If she knew it wouldn't wake the others up, she would be practically yelling. That was obvious because of the redness of her face.

"Ate, please." Gally pleaded, her hand reaching out and resting on said girl's shoulder. Good. She didn't flinch away. "You don't understand what would've happened to Dosik and the doctor if they stopped working."

"What do you mean?"

"Ate. They wouldn't have let them go. They would've killed them."
