Silence filled the car for a moment, before Addie spoke up.
"So is that like a nickname or.." She asked, earning a snort from El.
"Yes, it's a nickname." Lilia said, clearly exasperated.
"Okay!" Sophie said, quickly gaining the attention of the rest of the group. "Lilia, tell El the address and he can put it into the car. Then, text Ate and tell her that we're on her way. And Addie? Sweet, sweet Addie. Just concentrate on driving, please."
Addie let out a scoff before looking ahead and staying silent. The rest of their group did exactly what Sophie had said for them to do.
"We should be there in like ten minutes. Trust me, you'll like her. She's quiet, but you'll like her." Lilia said.
'We'll see about that' was the only thing on Addie's mind.
Like Lilia said, it was only ten minutes until they arrived at Ate's house, and surprisingly enough, said female was standing outside the front door, a small suitcase at her side along with a bag slung over her shoulder.
Before anyone could say anything, Lilia jumped out of the car and greeted Ate by grabbing her suitcase and giving her a side hug. After ushering the girl into the car, Lilia threw her bag into the trunk and got back in.
"Everyone, this is Ate. Ate, this is everyone." Lilia told her. "The pink haired one you're next to is Sophie. The curly-haired one up there driving is Addie. And the blonde is El."
Addie glanced back at Ate, who gave them a small 'hello'. She shrugged lightly before starting to drive again. "So." She said, slightly gripping the wheel. "Lilia filled you in right?" She earned a nod. "I'm surprised you agreed to it. You don't seem like a person who would easily believe that stuff."
"Well, I have nothing better to do." Ate responded, surprising all but Lilia. "I'm off of work for a couple of weeks and it would be cool to see the capital."
Addie let out a small hum in response, before quickly connecting her phone to the car and starting to play music. "Hope you don't mind Twenty One Pilots, Ate." She earned a shake of her head and a small smile. "Well good."
It didn't take long for everyone to grow comfortable with each other. Only twenty minutes in, all five were singing along, rather loudly, to 'Fairly Local'. The windows and sunroof were completely open, despite the heat of late summer.
However, the karaoke fest was cut off by a call not expected.
Addie's eyes widened and the others quickly quieted as her mother's caller ID appeared on the screen of the car. She rolled the windows up and closed the sunroof before answering.
"Hey, Mom." She said, quickly glancing at the others. She let out a quiet breath of relief since the only thing asked was what color of shirt she would prefer, which the answer to was easily green. Immediately after the call ended and everyone let out breaths they didn't realize they were holding.
"That was a close call, wasn't it?" El said with a small chuckle.
"Yeah, you're telling me." Addie responded with a nod. That soon followed by a fit of laughs from all five.
"Now, where were we?" Lilia leaned forward and pressed 'play' on the screen. And with that, loud singing of 'Fairly Local' continued.
