Y/N has been avoiding Gajeel for about a month now, and fate didn't help by placing Gajeel right next to her.
She sees him every morning when she leaves for work.
They became friends.
The nice Gajeel she met on the train was now blunt and sarcastic.
Y/N cringed at the thought of the day where she tripped over a rock carrying groceries and Gajeel helped her carry the rest.
Y/N walked to her apartment, Silently playing that she doesn't see him.
"Y/N."
She turned around, and saw Gajeel. His messy dark hair was some how even messier and his eyes were red.
"What's wrong?" Y/N couldn't help but ask.
"My girlfriend broke up with me." He replied back in a dry voice.
She remembered him talking about his girlfriend, Levy. They've been dating for about a year now.
Y/N walked closer to him and wrapped her arms around his torso, giving him a hug.
"Do you want to come in?" She asked, totally forgetting about avoiding him.
"That'd be nice." He admitted.
She opened the door and immediately went to the kitchen, making hot chocolate. Just like the past lifetime, hot chocolate always cheered them up.
"What happened?" Y/N asked, giving him the warm mug. "You guys were doing so well."
"She... She didn't accept me." He said, staring at his mug, deep in thought.
"What do you mean?" Y/N asked.
Gajeel looked at Y/N, "I-I'm immortal.."
Y/N stared at Gajeel in shock. "W-What?"
Gajeel looked at the mug again, ashamed. "It happened last week."
"How?" Y/N squeaked out, still in shock.
"When I moved here, I cut myself one day with a kitchen knife on accident.. Then it started to heal itself. When I came here, it's like I somehow turned immortal. Remember that that day when your you had your accident in the parking lot and I came to help you? I started on that exact date."
No. Fucking. Way. My blood somehow got in him.
.•*•.
Y/N was helping him adapt to immortality and she was falling in love with him all over again.
Whenever she sees him, guilt eats her alive, knowing that she turned him into this.
Gajeel always smiled and slightly blushed when she laughed at him.
"Try not to cut yourself this time." Y/N joked as she waved goodbye to Gajeel.
"Hey, Y/N." Gajeel said, still lingering at her door.
"Yeah?"
"Are you.. We should eat together sometime. Like, tomorrow." He said.
"Uh.. Sure! It depends on what you're making."
"No, I meant like eat out." Gajeel said, starting to get nervous.
"... Like a date?"
"Yes?"
Y/N smiled at him, "Is 7 ok?"
Gajeel grinned, more confidently now. "Yeah, see at 7."
.•*•.
"You did this?" Gajeel asked, shocked.
"Y-Yeah.." Y/N's eyes started to tear up, "I didn't mean it though!"
"No! I didn't mean it like that! That's great, that's means you're immortal too, right?"
"Yes.." Y/N mumbled.
"That means we get to spend forever with each other." Gajeel said, smiling. "That means you won't die."
"I guess, you can see it in that way." Y/N said.
"You taught me to look at the bright side." Gajeel said, grinning like a idiot.
"Why are you so happy?"
"I just found out that I get to spend my whole life with the love of my life, and now having to worry about the future." Gajeel said, hugging her.
"What about the other factors?"
"I don't care."
It's a little choppy, but I felt like this chapter was due.
