Here's some somewhat fluff, you guys derserve this.
Gajeel opened the house door just to smell the scent of chicken soup in the air.
He walked to the kitchen and saw Y/N adding some spices with headphones on. He wrapped his arms around her waist, scaring her.
He felt her jump and turn around, frowning. She pulled out a earphone and said, "What the hell?"
He grinned and buried his nose into her neck as she turned back to cooking.
She relaxed under his touch and began to stir the soup.
"You tired?" She asked, grabbing the nearby prepared bowls.
"Exhausted. Pantherlily and I had to beat up this metal man." He said, watching the liquid poured to the bowls.
"The great Gajeel has finally met a worthy challenger?" Y/N teased, raising a eyebrow."No." He scoffed.
After they ate and watched almost half of Netlflix, they bundled up and drifted off to sleep.
Y/N felt shuffling beside her, after 2 hours of tossing turning.
"P.... Pantherlily...."
She got up, the moonlight peeking through the open window, shining on Gajeel's sweat beaded face.
She shook him, trying to wake him up. Her fingers found the light switch and dodged a punch thrown by Gajeel.
At this point, Y/N was almost tempted to use a fire extinguisher.
Gajeel finally awoke after 3 slaps across the face.
"Damn you deep sleeper." Y/N mumbled, before hugging him. "You where having a nightmare again."
"Oh..." He said, swinging his legs off the bed, looking out the window.
"It was Lily. I heard you mumbling." Y/N said, rubbing circles on his back, trying to calm Gajeel's erratic heartbeat.
"I... I just—" Gajeel started.
"Shhh, you don't have to say anything." Y/N said, wrapping her body around Gajeel.
After a moment of comfortable silence, Gajeel mumbled "Thank you." Into Y/N's hair. And they pulled away, studying each other's faces.
"That's why I'm here." Y/N replied. "Do you want to stay up a little longer?"
".... Yeah...." Gajeel said.
"I'll get you something to drink." Y/N said, getting up.
Gajeel stared as she left, thinking she's too good to him.
