Y/N watched Gajeel guide Levy across the dance floor, them laughing at their conversation.
She felt something heavy on her chest.
Like all the pain and secrets she kept.
Y/N put down the champagne glass she was drinking from and excused herself from the happy environment.
The music slowly evaporated behind her as she wandered the endless halls of the castle.
Fancy drapes where hung on the large windows, allowing moonlight to slip in, the faint flicker of the candles illuminated the hallway.
She sat on the window still and watched the villagers danced in celebrating if the monster that Fairy Tail defeated.
"Shouldn't you be partying?"
He turned around to find a young man.
He had bright blue eyes and a chiseled face, matching his light brown hair.
Very cute.
"Eh, sulking is more my thing." Y/N joked, turning back to the dancing village.
"About someone?" He asked, walking closer to her. She could tell by the shadow.
"How did you know?"
"It's the same look I have everyone day."
"About who?"
"A girl I really like, she's off limits though."
Y/N raised her eyebrow, and looked at him. "Oh? How so?"
"She's one of the maids..." His eyes look like they were lost in their own world.
"I'm sorry." Y/N said, softly. "Mine's dating some other chick and doesn't think we are serious."
"Let me guess, he's possessive."
Y/N laughed, "I think we will be great friends," she extended her arm. "Y/N."
He grinned, showing his pearly white teeth. "Damion."
He was perfect, but Y/N just had to fall for the imperfect. She was chasing after a person she can't have.
"Want to go inside and dance until our feet fall off?" He joked.
"Why not." She smiled, "I'm getting bored of sulking."
He guided her back into the festive atmosphere and led her to the dance floor.
He mocked poshness and said, "Mad'am,"
"Why thank you, good sir." She replied back, smiling.
They danced and swayed, matching the music. There may have been some accidental toe crushing, but they ended up having a good time.
When the last song ended, their face ended up really close to each other.
He leaned in and their lips met. Sparks did not fly, it was just lip touching.
He didn't feel right.
But Y/N didn't care, and neither did Damion as they deepened the kiss.
Maybe they just wanted escape from the harsh reality
Maybe they just wanted some one to love.
And when they pulled apart, their eyes met and they smiled, knowing that the kiss meant nothing.
In the corner of Y/N's eye, she could spot Gajeel with a hurt expression.
