My Big Brother

Chapter 11

I walk downstairs after I finish wrapping the presents.

"I finished wrapping the presents I bought," I tell Liam.

"Alright hun. We should bake cookies!" He suggests.

We grab everything we need to bake sugar cookies.

We put everything into the mixer until there's batter.

"Can you please put the cookies on the pan?" I ask Liam. He nods and grabs the bowl from the mixer.

He sticks his hand into the bowl and pulls out his finger. It's covered with cookie dough. He sticks it out and I lick it off his hand.

"Love you sweetheart," he says and kisses my nose.

The baby monitor starts to make noise of Elle crying. I don't like the crinkly sound it makes so I hurry even more. Before I go upstairs I tell Liam, "Let me take care of this one."

I walk into Elle's nursery and she's still shrieking. I grab her and sit down on the light pink rocking chair.

She looks like an angel. Her blonde little curls, to her bright green eyes. I can't believe I was lucky enough to have her.

I rock her back and forth and she still won't calm down. I fed her, burped her, played with her, and she still is crying. I stand up, still carrying the screaming baby, and walk downstairs.

"I need help, she could be sick or something. She will not calm down," I inform Liam as I give her to him.

I walk over to the oven to see if the cookies are baking, which they are. They look perfect. I hope they taste good.

I wait patiently until the timer beeps on the cold counter. I was all peacefully until Liam came in the with the still crying baby. I frown at the event, but I guess we have to do something.

"What do you think we should do? I fed her, played with her, sang lullabies and she still is like this," Liam says looking down.

"We have some formula and we could put a little vanilla to make it taste better?" I question whether or not we should do it, but Liam nods.

I hop off the comfortably cool counter, and grab the formula from 3 cabinets away.

I make the bottle for Elle. Nice and warm. I walk it over to Liam, he gives me an assuring look and I calm down.

Liam feeds it to her, after about 5 minutes of discussing Christmas, the timer rings. "I'll get them," I inform Liam.

I turn off the oven and grab the black plastic oven mitt. I open the steaming hot oven, and grab the perfectly baked cookies.

"Is she okay Li?" I ask and he replies with, "Yes, finally."

I sigh with relief. I set the cookies pan in the sink after I scrap off all the cookies onto a plate.

"It's a quarter to seven, can you put Elle to bed?" I ask for the favor. He stands up and walks upstairs to go to Ellie's room.

He comes down about 10 minutes later. We have time to ourselves, yes.

"We should decorate these," I suggest.

"Oh I was thinking we were just letting them going to sit here and go stale," he replies and pulls me in close. "I love you so much Lily, so much," he adds on.

After he finished talking, he smashes his minty, strawberry tasting lips onto mine. Such a familiar feeling. Such a great one.

I pull away from the great kiss, and place my arms around his neck.

"Shot. Biggy's coming over in about 15 and look at this mess," I say referring to the cookies. "Oh with Anna also."

We start taking the tree out, I take the base and main pole and place it to the side. There's a knock on the door, it's Big. Liam gets up and answers the door.

"LIL!!" he yells in joy. I run over and do one of those romantic twirls.

"BIG!!" I beam. He kisses my cheek and I hug him tight.

"Anna!" I say and hug her. Anna is such a caring, funny, lovable person. "Oh my god. Anna! Are you pregnant?!" I ask grabbing her budding bump. "Congrats!!"

We walk up to the tree and the boys are setting it up already.

"I'm 4 months. It's a boy, we have a few names picked out but we need your opinion, since yours is basically just as important. Jonathan Adam, and Evan Thomas."

"Evan! It has a little melody to it, and Jonathan doesn't."

We decorate the whole tree, ornaments included. Louis and Anna take the guest room and we obviously take ours. Tomorrow is Christmas.

Me and Liam's first Christmas, together.
