Rachel POV
I plugged in my headphones and walked to meet my recruits in the room. Humming along to Centuries, I stopped by Lana and Miranda's room.
I heard some yelling and pushed open the door, taking out my headphones. A mutant I hadn't seen yet was yelling at Lana. "That game yesterday wasn't fair!" "Honey, you lost fair and square." Lana said calmly. His back was to me, so I couldn't see the mutant.
"Woah, what's going on in here?" Halc whispered. Without warning, the mutant slammed his fists into the floor and a huge hole was created under Lana!
"LANA!" Halc yelled, rushing forward. "Hey, Stonehenge!" I shot a web at his back. He growled and turned around, slapping the ground. He picked up a piece of the ground and threw it at me!
"I'll take my drinks not on the rocks, thanks." I dodged it and shot webs at him, wrapping him up. While he was occupied for only a moment, I saw Lana about to slip! "Halc! Grab her!" I yelled. "My boots were broken in the fall. Uh honey, my hand is slipping! Halc!" She yelled. The stone guy had already undone my webbing!
Halc took a deep breath and grabbed her hand. He pulled her up and she landed on his chest. "I. I can't look. Is it bad?" Halc asked. I ignored them and turned to fight the stone guy.
He slapped the ground and I swung away, hanging from the ceiling. I shot webs at the stone guy and wrapped him in webs, this time anchoring him to the wall. "Who's the dum dum now?" I laughed, hoping down.
He growled at me as I turned to Lana and Halc. "You're. You're okay!" Halc said, surprised. "I guess so! I guess whatever metal I'm made out of is resistant?" She laughed. Halc was still hugging her. "I haven't had a woman's touch in a long time! Woooohoo!" He cheered. "Well when you say it like that it's hard to thank you." She snapped, trying to pull away.
"I'm just kidding." He grinned. "So, are we going to get rid of him or what?" Lana asked. "I got this." Halc laughed. He walked up and touched my webbing. It turned into gold immediately! Thankfully it was just the web!
"How did you... Wow. Okay." Lana laughed. "The reason I never use it is because I tried saving a man from a building and ended up turning him into gold and I couldn't change him back." Halc said quietly. "Who was the man?" Lana asked gently.
Halc looked at her and shook his head. "My father." "Oh. I am so sorry." Lana said, hugging Halc. He tensed up at first before leaning into her. "Aww this is so cute and all but will you let me go?" The stone thing interrupted. "No!" We all yelled at him.
"You will be disqualified and classified as a villain until proven otherwise." I heard Miranda say, pushing open the door. "Halc! How are you....?" She trailed off. "I don't know! I think maybe it's the metal she's made out of?" He asked.
"Hello, hun!" Emerald called, walking up to me. "Hello, Emerald." I grinned. She put her arm over my shoulders. "So, what're we doing today?" She asked me.
"It's a surprise." I laughed. "C'mon SpiderGirl! Can't you just give me a hint?" She whined. "I'll give you all the hints...." Halc trailed off. "Not funny!" Lana slapped him! "Bet that's the first time anyone has ever done that! So it's long overdue!" Lana laughed. "That still wasn't very nice!" Halc yelled.
"Alright. Let's get started. Come on you two." I said to Halc and Emerald. "Playtime over." Emerald laughed. I looked at Miranda and shook my head laughing. "She's like a kid, I swear!" She laughed as we left.
We reached our room and I opened it. "Alright, let's wait for the other mutants to get here." I said. Emerald sighed. "But that will take forever!" I rolled my eyes.
