SpiderGirl POV
"We need both of you to help train a mutant that calls himself the Hound. If you ask me, he's just a furry dog on two legs. But he insists that he's a hero."I nodded, and so did Groot. Director Fury lead us to a grey, boring door. I turned the knob and walked in, Groot following me. My spidey sense went off and I saw something jump at us.
I swung and met it in mind air, knocking it to the side. I heard something whimper as I landed, Groot flicked on the light switch.
"What did you do that for?" I heard something growl. It had a low, gravelly voice. "You tried to attack us...maybe that would give you a clue?" I laughed.
The thing stood up and faced me. It looked like a large dog on two legs. "You scared me." He growled.
"Are you sure it's not because my friend here is basically a gigantic chew toy?" I laughed, Groot smiled at me. "Maybe that's part of it." He smirked at me.
"Let's get to training." I said, walking forward into the room. There was a matted floor with a dog bed in the corner. I sat cross-legged in the middle, The Hound and Groot following me.
"What? Are we going to sing Kumbaya?" The Hound laughed. I realized then that he had a Boston accent I hadn't noticed before.
"No. We're going to sit and talk in a relaxed position and environment. Then we can sing Kumbaya if you'd like." I joked. "But really, I'd like for you to tell me what you can do."
"I can smell and hear very well. Uh... I can do this." He walked over to where a tall, wooden wardrobe was on the left wall, the wall next to the one with his bed. He picked up the wardrobe and balanced it on one hand.
I whistled, he dropped the wardrobe and ran to me, sitting back down. He looked at me intently. "That was impressive"."Oh. I thought you called me." He was a dog after all...
"I am Groot." Groot said, trying to talk. "The Hound." The Hound said, reaching over and shaking Groot's hand. Groot nodded before pointing at himself and the door.
"Okay, go ahead." I smiled. The Hound watched him go with interest. "Alright. Now that's over with, and I have a basic idea, let's go ahead and fight. Now, you don't have to worry about me, bring it on." "Same here, bug." He snarled, getting up.
"No mercy." I said. "No mercy." He smiled, showing his teeth. He leapt at me, my Spidey sense slowed it down and I easily dodged him as he crashed to the floor.
"Too slow, kibble breath." He snarled and came to a stop in front of me. Narrowing his eyes, he watched me closely, my every move.
I was near the door, he circled left and lunged at me, I jumped out of the way, running into the door. He quickly opened the door and ran it into my face!
"Not fair." I laughed. "So much for kibble breath now, huh?" He laughed. I shot a web at him and trapped him in a giant spiderweb. He cut it with one of his claws and swung toward me. I dodged out of the way and rebounded off the wall, hitting him in the chest.
We fell forward and I quickly swung away. The Hound got up with a snarl. I crawled as fast as I could on the wall and got behind him. I tackled him and flipped him over, shooting webs until he couldn't get up.
He snarled and tried to lunge at me. I was thrown into a memory of Luke Goblin lunging at me with his necklace. I could almost reach his hand before he was shot with the arrow.
I shook my head and looked around. "Boo." The Hound said. While I was in my dream world, he had gotten out of my webs and stood behind me. I turned to him, his eyes were soft.
"You okay? You seem kinda off. You smell...sad." He said. "Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks. You can sense emotions?" I asked, a bit surprised.
"You seem to forget that I'm pretty much a dog. Dogs, along with horses, and other animals can sense emotion. I could tell you had a memory and it made you sad. Want to talk about it?" He asked.
As tempting as his offer was, I didn't want to throw it on him. "Nah, I'm fine. I think we should take a little break, though. Great job, that was pretty impressive." I took off my mask and rubbed my face.
We walked out, "where's the water fountain in this place? God, I feel like I'm back in high school." I laughed.
