Caitlin POV
I ran to one of the high tech phone booths and put in the number I knew all too well.

"Hey, mom. I need help with something." I said. "Caitlin? Thank goodness you're okay! What's going on? Are you hurt?" She said in a rush.

"I'm fine mom, honest. I got arrested by someone called "S. H. I. E. L D." But I'm okay. No telling where the bloody hell my ship is though. It was in the Skullian Bay, but it's probably been ransacked by now. But I'm okay. They thought I stole some money and jewels, but I thought I got them in a fair trade." My mother laughed. "Well, your grandmother has been called a thief for many years." I laughed too. "But getting back on track. I've made some friends. Speaking of which, I need some magic to cure my friends. There's two right now that may never wake up."

There was silence. "There's something I need to tell you. That story your father and I told you isn't exactly true." I paused.

"I'm listening." "You're my child, which means you have magic of your own." I stopped for a few seconds. "You bloody liar!" I yelled. "No, it's true. We had to hide this from you, so the darkness wouldn't find you again. Very evil people stole you away the first time. Your father had to fight to get you back. I can give you some spells over the phone to heal your friends. We can talk about all of this when you get home."

I sighed. "You should've told me." I said, sounding as hurt as I felt. "Look, kid, I'm sorry. But what's going on?." "They seemed to have used all of their energy in their powers. They're mutants!" I said excitedly. "So, a reviving spell....I have just the one." She started reading off a spell to me that I wrote down on a piece of paper that I found in the booth.

"Just look for the magic deep inside you." She said. "You mean I didn't have to make that deal with the bloody fairy?" I snarled.

"I'm sorry. I would've told you sooner, but it was complicated." I didn't say anything for a good while.

"There's actually something I have to tell you...." I trailed off, looking at my hook.

"What is it?" "Dad isn't the only Capitan Hook in the family now..." There was a long silence.

"They cut it off and threw it in the ocean when I tried to save a woman from drowning in the ocean. Right before I got arrested. They said she was a thief. A girl named Robin?" I asked.

"I've got to go. Come home soon, Henry misses you." I grinned at that. My older brother missed me.

"Okay, mom. Bye. Love you." I grinned. "Love you too, kid."

I went to turn away from the phone, but just sat there, staring at it. Did they accept me for who I was now? I was a pirate like dad was.....

I sat there for a little while, just staring at the bloody phone. "I know what you're thinking." I heard someone say. I jumped and dropped the phone.

"I heard the whole conversation." I turned around and saw a black looking demon. "Who the bloody devil are you?" I asked, surprised. "No, not a devil. And certainly not a bloody one. My name is Nytemare. Pleasure to meet you." He shook my hand excitedly.

"Your parents will accept you, hand or hook. I'm sure she was just busy with the Robin girl. Believe me, at first my parents didn't accept me either, after I became this way, but they finally did. And if anyone can accept me, your parents can accept you." I felt kind of weird to be talking to a creature seemingly full of darkness.

"thank you." I said quietly. "I know what you're thinking again. I'm not a demon, just a misguided hero." He grinned.
