Kimberly (Evergreen) POV
I turned the knob and went to walk in but was stopped by a hand on my shoulder.

I turned and saw SilverMist. "Hey!" I smiled at her. "Hey! I met this girl, I'm the one that brought her in. She's very guarded, and doesn't like to talk about her past. She was almost raped with we got to her." I shuddered, poor girl.

"But she started to rapidly change into other animals, attacking the assaulters! It was pretty impressive. I'll be upstairs if you need anything." She told me, giving me a quick hug before she left.

I opened the knob and walked in, the light was already on. A girl was sitting in the corner, her back to the wall, head down, arms wrapped around her knees.

She had scarlet hair, normally I would assume from a bottle, but since she was a mutant, she was most likely born with it. She was wearing a black jumpsuit, no shoes, just bare feet. I assumed Shield had put her in it.

"Hello." I said, as calmly as I could. She jumped a good 10 feet in the air and shrunk back from me. "It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you, okay?" I smiled. She gave me a tiny smile back.

She had a scarlet star tattooed around her eye, her eyes were a fierce gold, shining against the star tattoo. She stared at me for a long time, I sensed she was torn between saying everything on her mind and still scared of me enough not to say anything.

I walked closer, slowly. She sat straight up and turned into a gigantic cobra. "Well...that was unexpected." I laughed, my vines coming out. The snake smiled with fangs. She seems more confident when she is an animal....

"Ssshould I make plant ssstew? Not a bad idea." She laughed. This time, I shrunk back! "I wasss jussst kidding." She turned back into a human and stared at me, her eyes challenging.

"Very funny." I snapped. "I was just trying to make what I believe you call a joke?" She replied icily, settling back into the corner. She didn't talk for a long while, I sat, flicking my vines in and out of my hand.

"Why do you care?" She whispered suddenly. "Because I can see that you've had a hard life. I will tell you a story, if you like." I shrugged, walking closer to her before sitting a foot away from her.

She just looked at me and nodded. "It's like a cat cornering a mouse. I don't have a choice." I didn't say anything until she laughed. I laughed, grateful that it was a joke.

She looked at me expectantly.

I took a breath and sat up straight. "My mother was married to a man that I don't quite remember. He was blue and had claws kind of like Wolverine. I didn't see him except once or twice. My mother got involved with a guy named Harry Osborne." The girl's eyes widened, "Green Goblin?" I nodded.

"Yes. The one and only. She and Harry had a....son named L...Luke. He was my brother. He took after his father in every single way, he got the stronger Goblin gene than the plant gene. He trained as the new Goblin." I stopped talking, fearing that I would start crying.

Even though he was considered a villain, it wasn't entirely his fault. I felt a hand on my hand and looked up. The girl had grabbed my hand to comfort me.

"Thank you." I said, squeezing her hand back. She grinned. "I was left in the hands of Harry Osborne. He started experimenting on me with different chemicals, to see what would halt a mutant's powers and what would release them. He did this for several years, my brother tried to stop him, but couldn't." The girl sat back, listening to the story intently.

"So flash forward, I met a girl whose name is Rachel Parker. She's also known as SpiderGirl. Her father is a brilliant scientist. Her father figured out how to reverse the effects. I had been taught to hate and kill the Parkers at all cost, by my father.

Rachel proved that completely wrong. Time and time again when my father tried to take me back and harm me, Rachel and her father helped me; no matter what. So you're probably wondering why I told you that story?" I paused. The girl didn't say anything, so I continued.

"Not everyone knows that story. They just see me as a monster and run away, as soon as they heard two words: Green and Goblin. I know what it's like to have no one to trust, your own family turned against you." The girl flinched noticeably, I took note of it and continued

"And not be able to control your powers." She flinched again, "I shattered a handle and beaker when the serum was taken out of my blood and I got angry. I know how it feels to be at the mercy of emotion. But what I want to say overall is if you need a friend, I'm here for you. And let me tell you, it's a hell of a lot easier if you have a friend." I shrugged.

She leaned completely into the corner and seemed to be processing what I had just said. I heard the door open and saw Rachel stick her head in. "Just wanted to see how it's going." She smiled. She had taken off her mask but kept the rest of her suit on.

"I think it's okay." I shrugged. I sensed a high amount of fear in the girl. "This is Rachel." I said. "Oh, I'm sorry. I never got your name or told you mine. Whoops." I laughed.

"I'm Kimberly, also known as Evergreen." "Seems like you got very far." Rachel laughed. "Are you SpiderGirl?" The girl asked, moving forward a bit.

Rachel titled her head at me. "I'm not the one walking around in half my suit." I laughed. "Oh. That's a good point.." She laughed. "But yeah, I'm SpiderGirl. Ya know, I wonder if I'll ever become a woman.." Rachel laughed. I heard the girl laugh behind me.

"Well, I better go off and meet back up with The Hound to see how he's doing. Catch you two later!" She smiled at both of us. I could sense the girl behind me relaxing a little bit.

"What is your name? And where are you from? I can sense a little bit of an English accent." I asked, turning back around.

"I'm from hell. And my name is ScarletStar." She laughed. "I don't see any fire or devil horns!" I laughed back. She smiled at me.

"I...I don't really like to talk about it." She said, catching me off guard. I expected another witty comeback. "That's okay. If you ever want to, you can talk with me. Just know that." I smiled. She nodded at me, I sensed this was the end of our conversation.

I stood up and began to walk toward the door. "Kimberly, wait." ScarletStar said, I turned around. "Yeah, baby girl?" I asked gently. "Thank you."

I nodded, "you're welcome." Before walking out the door. That was about as far as I'd get today, but it was somewhere....
