Rachel POV

I walked into the hospital wing, my friends were still lying in comas.

I walked over to Kimberly and kneeled. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean what I said, honest. It just came out, I don't know what I was thinking. Look, these last few months have been awful, and I'm so sorry for that. I should've been there for you more." I said quietly.

"Aye, mate, it's not your fault. Mistakes happen. It's okay." I heard the Hooktress say. She put her hook gently on my shoulder. "I might be able to heal her." I stopped and turned.

"What?" I asked, confused. "She's only in a coma, right?" She asked me. I nodded, confused on what she could do.

"Stand back. This is the first time I've ever done this." I stepped back, watching her closely. She said some words that sounded like jibberish while waving her hand and hook over Kimberly. "Okay where's your top hat and largely overplayed bunny for your magic trick?" I laughed.

She sighed and tried again. She tried a good 15 times before finally, a bright blue wave appeared underneath her hands. She waved them across Kimberly's body.

She stood back, seemingly exhausted. Kimberly moved once, and then opened her eyes. "How did you....""A revival spell. I have magic." That's impossible....magic doesn't exist.... But I never knew mutants existed....so I guess anything is possible...

"Well, okay, whatever!" I laughed. "Kimberly! I'm so sorry!" I said quickly. She didn't look at me. "Kimberly." I whimpered.

The Hooktress moved away, "I will give you a minute." I sat and stared at my friend in despair. "Look, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to say that, it just slipped out. I don't know what the hell I was thinking." I said angrily.

She looked at me and laughed. "You weren't. That was the problem." She didn't say anything else. "Well, if you won't talk to me, then fine. I just want you to know that I'm sorry and that I was so stupid to say that." I turned to walk away, but she grabbed my hand.

"I forgive you. Look, I know you didn't mean it, but the words still stung. I just needed a little bit to recover from my initial shock. And I know you haven't been around to comfort me about Luke, because you're busy protecting the city. Look, I just need a little while to grieve and kinda find myself again. So if I'm standoffish, it's not you. I promise." She said, squeezing my hand.

"Okay. Well, if you need anything, I'm just a call away." I grinned. I walked away from her bed and toward ScarletStar's. She had just woken up too.

"I'm fine." She snapped. "Well nice to see you too. And you're welcome." The Hooktress snapped. She stalked away as I moved closer.

"You okay?" I asked, careful not to scare her. "Yeah. Thanks." She responded gruffly. I didn't say anything else, and waited for her to speak instead.

"I think it worked." She said after a long while. "I thought it would. Especially because it was created by Dr. Xaiver himself." I shrugged.

She nodded but didn't say anything else. I turned and ran into Miranda.

"I'm getting ready to meet with Fury. Want to come?" She asked me. "Sure."
