There was a series of knocks, bangs and other such noises on the door of the closet. I groaned and got up to open it. The closet door squeaked and Ted barged into the room. We both collided with force and he caught me by my arm before I would fall."Your welcome," He said and I pushed him away. I adjusted my clothes and hissed, "Don't you have any patience? It's not cool to just bump into a fragile girl."
He scoffed and walked towards the entrance of my room. I ran after him in time and grabbed his arm. He looked down at my hand and I quickly let go of his arm in embarrassment.
"Don't just roam around my house. Mom and dad left early to work but Poppy, my little sister is still at home," I warned and he sighed.
"What excuse did you give to your family?" He asked and I grinned.
"I said that I would go to my friend's place. But they don't know that she's actually on a holiday," I whispered and giggled in excitement. It was the first time I was breaking rules and not being a good girl. I felt thrilled by my own confidence.
"You don't need this warm coat over here. It's not that cold. Your jacket is enough. You can leave the coat here," I said and he nodded. He removed the coat and threw it randomly on my bed.
"Really?" I frowned and picked it up. I folded it neatly and kept it in the closet. He shook his head in disbelief.
"What is our plan? Can you drive around to the place we need to go or do we have to take a cab?" Ted questioned and I retrieved the keys from my pocket. I showed him the keys proudly and said, "My own car."
Ted rolled his eyes and I ignored his gesture. I was really proud of my car though it was not the finest and was a bit small. I quietly opened the door of my room and tried my best to not make any noise. I popped my head out and looked downstairs. "All clear."
I stepped out and Ted followed close behind me. He carelessly hopped down the stairs while I tried to quiten him. We reached the passage way and he quickly shoved me forward. But I froze in my place when I heard Poppy's voice.
"Abby, do you know where the hell is Nutella. I am hungry over here and I am trying to find it - "
"Shit, she's in the kitchen," I mumbled and we both started panicking. We knew that we couldn't let Poppy know about this stuff. Kitchen was just a few inches away and if she opened the door, we would be exposed.
"You should run out of this house before Poppy finds out. Wait outside, I'll just talk to Poppy and come. Now, go!" I hissed and pushed Ted.
"Abby, are you here?" I heard Poppy's voice. Ted quickly pulled open the door and vanished. Right at that moment, Poppy stuck her head out of the kitchen. She looked puzzled, her long, wild hair reaching till the floor. I sighed and wiped the sweat that formed over my forehead.
"Did something happen here? You look terrified," Poppy pointed out and I shook my head. I said in a low voice, "Uh - I ate the Nutella."
