"Where's your bra and - ""Top shelf, farthest right corner," I replied quickly and Ted nodded. He disappeared into the closet and reappeared with a bunch of clothes which consisted of comfortable leggings, woolen socks, sweater and a full sleeved t-shirt.
" - why didn't you tell all this earlier? I was so excited about you both and you never revealed such an interesting secret to me? To your very own, dear sister?"
"Poppy, please stop. My head is aching and I'm sorry," I murmured and rubbed my temples. It took so much time to explain everything to Poppy and well, handle her getting all excited about it.
"But Abby, you should have told me - "
"Sweetheart, can you help your sister to change so she doesn't catch a fever or flu. We'll talk about this later," Ted said. Poppy's eyes twinkled and her attention darted between Ted and me, in an attempt to convey me that Ted again called her sweetheart. I rolled my eyes and got up from Ted. I mean bed.
Poppy helped me get changed quickly as Ted was waiting outside. I was dressed in fresh, dry pair of clothes and I felt warmer and better than earlier. Poppy helped me tie a dry towel around my head to dry my hair. She wrapped me in a huge blanket. Ted entered the room with hot and sour soup which he had earlier ordered. He served it to me and Poppy and later, helped himself too.
"We can just take her back to our house so she'll feel warmer and more comfortable there," Poppy suggested and made an annoying noise while having the soup.
"But I want to take care of her," Ted mumbled.
"Oh, okay. You can come there since I have to go to dance classes within an hour. She'll need someone to take care of her anyway," Poppy replied with a wide grin. She wiggled her eyebrows towards me and I scoffed.
"It's okay, it's not like I have got some serious disease or something. I'll be fine on my own," I said.
"I'm coming there, sweetheart. Do you know when your parents will be back?" Ted asked Poppy.
"Don't worry about them, they love you anyway unlike my sister. But I'm sure, she's falling for you."
"Hey, guys, I'm right here - "
"Really? But I'm not that suprised. I knew that she secretly had a thing for me," Ted said to Poppy.
"She's always so - "
"Alright, stop right there Poppy. And you too Ted. Just because I'm unable to yell, doesn't mean that you guys talk openly about me in front of my back if that makes sense. And I don't love - " I coughed and Ted rushed to bring a glass of water. Poppy patted my back.
Ted handed me the glass of water and I drank it. Poppy rubbed my back and said to Ted, "We should take her back to home."
Ted nodded in agreement and lifted me up. I pushed him away and stood firmly. After minutes, my legs started to wobble and I needed support anyway. We went through the closet and arrived at my room. Poppy grabbed my bag and said, "I'm borrowing your bag for the classes, don't mind. I have to leave right away."
"Okay sweetheart, bye," Ted said and Poppy grinned. I threw a pillow weakly at her and she laughed, when it didn't even reach her feet. She left soon and I slept on the bed.
"Are you feeling better? If you want anything, tell me," Ted said. I still felt cold and weak.
"Yes, I want you to sleep with me."
