"Mum, dad, believe us, Poppy is telling the truth," I said to my parents in a desperate tone. We were in the police station recording Poppy's descriptions regarding what Phar did to her. Poppy cried and chocked out the words while Phar denied it. Aunt Katherine too supported Phar and Dad kept Ted behind him to avoid any more violence.

"Madam, do you have any evidence against him. Any previous attempts of him to molest anyone of you. It would help," The police officer said and I nodded. I tried to unbutton the first two buttons of Poppy's shirt to show the red marks but Poppy surprised me by lifting her shirt. I gasped when I saw bruises all over her stomach.

"You should have shown me this earlier. We need to rush you to the hospital," I muttered and Mum hurried towards Poppy. Poppy hugged her and I noticed Ted shocked too. He glared at Phar and Phar and Aunt Katherine looked nervous.

"She's lying. It's clear that she's proving fake evidences. We always knew that she had a crush on my son, so it's just one of her er... tactics maybe," Aunt Katherine forced out the words nervously and the police officer shook his head wearily.

"We'll see that in the court." The police officer then glanced at my mum and Poppy and continued, "Take care honey, be strong. If this boy troubles you or tries to threaten you then report it immediately."

Poppy nodded and I smiled at the police officer's gesture. He threw a nasty look towards Phar and I saw him shudder in fear.

Here we were, walking out of the police station with Poppy hugging mum, dad stiffly walking ahead to drive us home and Ted and me walking hand in hand. I didn't realize how we ended up holding hands but strangely, I liked it. I loved how my tiny, smooth hands felt against his large, rough ones. He was limping due to the injuries caused during the fight with the nasty pig, Phar.

It was good that he wasn't charged with anything for creating a fight with Phar. At first, when mum and dad had arrived at Aunt Katherine's call they weren't pleased at all with Ted beating up Phar. When my parents got to know the truth, I could see the way they looked at Ted. Their eyes filled with the emotions of love and gratefulness. They thought that though it was a matter which the parents had to handle, they looked happy to see Phar beaten up and get a temporary punishment of his doings.

We sat quietly in the car and I still didn't leave Ted's hands. He glanced at me and his eyes darted between my face and our hands held together. I smiled nervously at him. He didn't say anything and I could feel his hands tighten around my own.
