A gazillion things could go wrong! Alex woke up at nine o'clock and decided not to wake me so right now it's 12:17 and I'm striving to get ready in a rush. Alex just watched me struggle in the doorway.
"You know, you don't have to wear makeup." He commented.
"We're going out to lunch at a fancy restaurant Alex!" He could feel my wrath. "Oh my god, what am I gonna wear?"
"We can stop by your house." He suggested and I shook my head.
"That's out of the way of the restaurant, I'll just buy an outfit on the way." I said letting my hair down.
"You do realize you are going there to breakup with the man? You don't have to go all out for this." He said.
"You're right." I sat down in defeat. "But can't I at least buy a cute sundress?"
He sighed, "Sure."
We drove around the restaurant, when I saw a little boutique I told Alex to let me out. He parked the car and we went in and I bought a light blue checkered dress.
"Oh my god! I just saw Suicide Squad last night!" The cashier said, covering her mouth. "Can I get your autograph?"
"Sure." I said with a grin.
Doing 'Wolf Of Wall Street' was big, doing 'Focus' was bigger, but doing 'Suicide Squad' was huge! It was great working with Will again, and then working with Jared Leto and Cara Delevingne. It was all a dream come true. I sighed her shirt saying 'From me and Mister J, Harleen Quinzel'.
When we left the shop, Alex stopped me. "So what's the plan? Do you need me to wait out here?" He asked.
"Nah, go home. I'll get a cab to pick up my car from Rian's." I stated.
"You sure?" I nodded and I watched as he drove home.
I walked over to the restaurant, just in time too. The hostess walked me over to the table Nate had reserved for us. He stood up to greet me.
"I'm so glad you came to meet with me. I feel so bad for ruining your birthday, I didn't even get a chance to give you your birthday present." Nate said handing a box to me, we both sat down.
"Nathan, I can't take this." I said and passed it back to him.
"Why?" He asked, I passed him over the key for his apartment.
"I can't do this." I said calmly.
"You don't have to move in with me, we can go as slow as you want." He pleaded.
"No, I can't do us. I just need to be single for awhile."
The waiter walked over to us, "Can I interest you in some champagne?" He asked.
"Oh no thank you, I won't be staying long." I said.
"You're heartless, you know that? We could have been great, but you're dumping me for that emo fool. Well good luck with Captain Sarcasm!" Nate said making everyone look our way, he stormed out.
"You know what, I'll take a glass of scotch." I said to the waiter.
"As you wish." The waiter said and walked off.
I let out a hard sigh. My phone began to vibrate, so I answered. "Hello?" I asked.
"Hey Jess, it's Andy. Where'd you want to get drinks tonight?" He asked.
"I don't really know any good bars, I'm a home drinker. So wherever you'd like." I said.
"How about Seven Grand? I'll pick you up if you're not sure where it is." He asked.
"That'd actually be terrific." I said.
"So did you think about what I asked you?"
"Uh yeah."
"So no?"
"Sorry." I said.
"That's alright, friendship's cool too." I laughed thinking about Paul in Big Brother this year. "You okay?"
"Yeah, sorry just thought of something. So what time should I be ready at?" I asked.
"Be ready for seven. I'll see you later."
"Bye." I pressed the red button.
The waiter brought over my scotch. "Thank you." I said.
"So what will you be having for lunch?" He asked and I quickly skimmed the menu.
"Actually, I don't have time for lunch today. So that'll be all." I said. To be honest, I just couldn't understand the menu.
"Would you like to pay now miss?"
"Uh yes."
I paid for my drink and enjoyed it a lot. He gave me a pretty pricey one, but worth it. I then got a cab to Rian's and drove my car home.
One thing stuck in my mind though. Am I heartless? I was just thinking about what was best for me. Is that so wrong? Whatever, I'm sick of guys like him who don't trust a woman's word. Tonight will be about friendship, nothing more.
