Andy's POV

I had just arrived at her house, not a minute past noon. It seems so pathetic of me to be right on time, but I'm in love with this woman. It just is so difficult to get that into her head, but she claims she wants to stay single. I don't believe her though, I think she has a thing for Alex, which sucks. I mean he can call her up anytime he wants and she'll jump right in his arms, but I screwed things up. At the time I loved Jules and everything she stood for, we were the 'it' couple, but things never felt as right with Jules as it was with Jess. Now Jess is a woman, no longer the girl who'd follow me everywhere. I need to show her just what she means to me. So as I knocked on the door, I smelt the lilies I had just bought for her. People buy their friends flowers, right?

She opened the front door, God she's the most beautiful person I've ever met. "Hey, are those for me?" She smiled.

"Yeah, I remembered lilies are your favourite." I said and handed them to her.

She took a sniff and her smile widened, "Thank you, I'll just put them inside." I nodded as she went back inside. She came back out and closed the door behind her. "So what's the game plan? Are we going to the beach?"

I scratched the back of my head, "We are going to the beach, I thought it'd be fun because of the last time we were there." I said.

Jessica's POV

I looked back at the last time I was at the beach with Andy as we drove back there. It was maybe five, six years ago. He took me there because he just got signed to a label and wanted to celebrate. We stole tequila from our parents and danced in the sun, it was a phenomenal day! Could that possibly be what we're going to do today?
I listened as he softly sang along to Ed Sheeran's 'The A Team'. He'd never admit it to anyone else that he has a soft spot for acoustic pop.

"Ripped gloves, raincoat
Tried to swim and stay afloat
Dry house, wet clothes
Loose change, bank notes
Weary-eyed, dry throat
Call girl, no phone." He sang, he has a voice of an angel, I swear.

"So what happened between you and Juliet? That is if you don't mind me asking." I asked already knowing the answer.

He sighed to himself before answering, "The guys don't know this, but I proposed to Jules and she turned me down because she doesn't believe that I truly loved her."

"Loved, as in past tense?" I asked, remembering the messages.

"She was right about something, something that I hadn't truly realized until she told me. I love you Jess, and I'll never stop." Could this possibly be true? I mean, why else would he waste his time with me? I guess he does love me. But do I still love him? It's like he's grown into a mature version of himself, and I've changed more than ever. I'm not the girl who'd do anything to be with him, I'm now the woman that he wants to be with. Is there a future here? "We're here!" He said, knocking me out of my thoughts.

It looks just as it did five years ago. The golden sand that drifts into the blissful, shimmering waves that went on forever. I love the beach, even though I haven't had enough time to go recently. "Jesse, can you grab the picnic basket in the back?" Andy asked.

We both got out of the car and I went to the back to grab the basket. "You made us a picnic basket? You're so sweet." I stated and he scratched the back of his head.

"Well I didn't exactly make it. My friend Jake made it, I just told him what to put in it. You know I would have if I knew how to cook." He said grabbing the blanket along with a big umbrella.

We set up our stuff pretty close to the truck, and I began taking off my clothes. Andy was behind me, and I could tell that his eyes were on me. "Last one in is a rotten egg!" I yelled and started to run towards the water.

I watched as he ran pass me and threw his shirt towards me. I finally joined him in the water. "I guess you're the rotten egg."

After enough time in the water, we dried off in the sun. Andy got the whole picnic set up and walked up to me with two glasses of champagne. He handed me one as I turned towards him. "To successful careers." I said.

"To the old times." H e said.

We tapped our glasses together as we both said, "Cheers!"

We both took a sip, "Jinx, you owe me a kiss." He said with a smirk, making me cross my arms.

"I've never heard that one before." I stated.

"You still have to do it."

I gave him my glass, and he set it down with his on the basket. He then put one hand onto my cheek and leaned in for the kiss. It was just as at IHOP, simply perfect, just this time I didn't pull away.
