S O P H I A

I sat quietly in BHS's (Bonivile High School) library reading a book, Twilight. As much as it's cliché, it's actually good. And most people who say, "Twilight is gay" have never actually read it before. The point of the book is to make people realize that not all relationships have two people who love each other, not like Edward doesn't love Bella. But they're in love with the idea of being with each other. It's toxic.

It's just that Bella depends too much on him for her happiness and Edward is just too headstrong to realize that she isn't "going to give up on him" he doesn't really love her until she dies. Their relationship is unhealthy.

The bell rings signalling that lunch was over. I put the book in my bag and stood up and walked to class. The hallways of Bonivile were just like any other high school; traffic, dorks being shoved against lockers, girls stopping randomly in the middle of the hallway just to talk to their friends. Stuff like that.

I don't know where I belong, I should've found out during freshman year. As awkward as I seem, I'm actually friends with most people here, so I really shouldn't care about which group I belong to, right?

I made my way to English 10. I would have taken English 10 Honors, but I already have too much on my plate. Between holding up my grades and extracurricular activities, I hardly had time for hanging out with my friends, or going to parties.

I sat in my usual desk in my usual corner of the room. "Hello Mrs. Jensen." I mumbled while smiling at her.

She returned the smile and waved as she was getting ready for English. It's best not to bother her while she's doing something, she has a super short temper. I pulled a note book and a pencil from out of my bag, then I sat up. Ready for today's lecture.

In fact, this whole week we're covering Hamlet, even though we've probably all read it in eighth grade. Mrs. Jensen states that she's just giving us a quick review of Shakespeare's work before our final exams which are a week from now. I think it's just because she needs a break and she's lazy the last week of the term.

The students shuffled in the class room, and among those students was my boyfriend, Jessie Lockwood. We weren't "going steady" yet, but he has taken me on a few dates. I like him a lot, though.

He was just so positive all the time, he's also really handsome and carries himself well.

He sat next to me and smirked, holding something behind his back as he turned his body so he was facing me.

"I got you something." He said and held out a pink rose with a card attached to the stem. I blushed as I took it.

"Thank you, Jessie." I smiled at him and smelled the rose.

"Read the card, love."

I did as told and read the piece of white parchment.

"Thank you for being with me through thick and thin.

Xx - Jessie "

I smiled at the cheesiness and looked at his beautiful blue eyes.

"Thank you Jessie."
