"So, Luke. How are you feeling today?" My counsellor, Sophia, asked and she clasped her hands on her desk.

I shrugged. I honestly didn't know how I was feeling, all I knew was that I needed her. I needed to taste her, and from how she smells she must be good. Thinking about it just makes me hungry.

I clenched my jaw, repressing my fangs. Which made my gums hurt like hell.

"A-are you okay?" She furrowed her eye brows.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just hungry... That's all. I think I'm fine, I just don't think I can do this right now. Thank you." I left her in there looking confused as I walked out of the center.

It was at least nine, the sun was setting along the horizon. All the years I've lived, the sunset was the only thing that made me feel at home again. My throat felt dry. I haven't had anything to eat in at least 10 hours. That's bad for a vampire.

No, Vampires don't sparkle, they don't live forever either. The curse does slow the process of aging though.

I got turned by my friend at the age of 12. I've lived for 120 years, and I look 18. But, if vampires don't get the only thing they depend on for life, they eventually turn into an ash-like statue. Touch the dead vampire and they blow away.

I saw a girl about the same age as Sophia who I craved deeply for. But I know I would kill her if I had one drop of her blood. She was crying, I think. I walked up to her and tapped her shoulder.

"Hey... Are you okay?" She turned towards me and tears streamed down her pale face.

"Yeah... Sorry, my boyfriend was just..." She sobbed.

Jesus... She is the most emotional person I've seen since I've moved here. I took no time to push her into a wall and she gasped.

"Sorry love... I'm just so hungry..." I groaned and bit into her neck. Warm blood filled my mouth. It tasted coppery and sweet at the same time. I took a few pints out of her before she passed out.

I pulled away and wiped my mouth. I got ride of the body by throwing it in a near by river. God, that was the best.

I casually walked home where my roommates lived. They're also vampires. Surprise. Surprise.

S O P H I A

I looked at the clock above my desk and realized that my shift is done for today. I looked back at a little girl who was just silent as tears rolled down her cheeks. Her name is Penny, she lost both of her parents to cancer. She got placed here in Utah in foster care. Her story is very similar to the others that I counsel.

"That's it for today, our next appointment will be on Tuesday of next week." I reminded her foster care mother as I clocked out. She only nodded and dragged the weeping child to their car.

I said goodbye to the others and walked out of the building. I unlocked my car, got in and started the engine. Soon, I would be home again, in my bed and sleeping.

But that would never happen. As soon as I got onto the highway, there was a person standing in the road. I didn't want to hit the man so I spun the wheel and somehow, I flipped my car.
