S O P H I A
Tears were streaming down my face as soon as I got home. The painful feeling of regret and betrayal pierced my heart. "Fuck..." I muttered and I threw my phone onto my bed.
Then I grabbed my laptop and decided to study - something I haven't done since before I met Luke. I got onto my Mac laptop and emailed Jesse, not wanting to get on my phone in fear of reading what Luke had to say.
I was annoyed, pissed off, and sick to my stomach.
Sophia: Hey, can you come over? I need to talk to you x
Jesse: Umm, yeah. Sure, I'll be there in 10.
So I waited. Until Jesse got here, I blasted music from my only good sub. I blew the other ones to my stereo.
I heard a knock on my bedroom door as I was typing a paragraph for an essay for English. "Give me a sec!" I yelled from my bed.
As soon as I was done, I closed my Mac and opened the door and on the other side was Jesse. "Jesse.." I sighed in relief when he pulled me in for a tight hug.
"I am so sorry... I'm sorry for everything I've put you through." I said into his shoulder. His warmth radiated from his body, he pulled away and shook his head. We walked farther into my room and both sat on my bed.
"Don't worry about it. I know a lot of things are happening."
He laid down on the bed and starred at the ceiling. "What did you need to talk about?"
I laid back next to him and sighed before answering, "I just needed to tell you how sorry I am. I shouldn't have ended it between us, especially after you were there for me when nobody else was."
He wrapped his arms around me and pulled my body flush against his. "Don't worry about it. It's all in the past now."
A feeling welled up in my chest, it was a weird feeling. Completely different from the feeling I get when Luke holds me. "So, how are you?" I asked, raising an eyebrow, although he couldn't see it.
I was trying to make small talk, anything to avoid possible awkwardness. "I've been worse." He chuckled, I felt it reverberate through his chest. It sent shivers down my spine.
"Me too." I laughed, still keeping my arms wrapped around his torso. "Did you ever think this would happen to us?" He asked and drew lines on my upper arm.
"No... No I didn't." I sat up and the lack of contact made me shiver. I looked back at him and sighed. "You know, my feelings about you never changed. I've always loved you, Jesse."
I looked forward again, this time my gaze rested on my feet that barely touched the floor boards. Jesse let out a soft chuckle and he sat up with me. "Look at me, Sophia." He said with a grin plastered to his face.
I turned my head to face him and couldn't help but crack a smile. There were only inches between us. He closed up the space by leaning in for a kiss.
